๐Ÿ”ฆ ALUMNI IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Great to see QMU graduate and local Home Economics teacher, Ryan Lee feature in QMU's new brand awareness campaign for 2022.

Ryan looks back on the highlights from his 5 years at QMU and shares his passion for teaching Home Economics in the 21st century.

Read Ryan's story
๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.qmu.ac.uk/study-here/student-stories/ryan-lee-pgde-secondary-home-economics/

โ€œI had the best time at QMU." says Ryan, "I loved doing the BSc Nutrition, especially learning about contemporary food issues, sustainability and the many health-related issues and inequalities that Scotland faces today.

Taking part in an Honours project at a primary school where I was able to teach children about the journey of food and food sustainability was another highlight." ๐Ÿ™Œ

โฉ Ryan started his QMU journey as an undergraduate studying Nutrition, then - realising the high demand for teachers - stayed on to complete his one-year PGDE (Secondary)Home Economics course. He was being courted for jobs even before graduating!

Ryan now teaches at Musselburgh Grammar School and shares his QMU student and career journey with us, including advice for those interested in going into teaching!
