From the classroom to the world! 🌍

We’ve had an incredible year of learning, exploring, and making memories. Our students have been on some truly unforgettable trips experiencing new cultures and here’s just a few of the highlights:

- Catering and Hospitality students took on a professional kitchen masterclass and tasted authentic Cypriot cuisine.

- Sports students travelled to Kenya to support local communities and explore the wild landscape on a three-day safari.

- Foundation students soaked in the unforgettable art, culture, and sights of Barcelona

- A-Level students dove straight into Berlin, blending iconic sightseeing with meaningful community projects.

- Public Services learners from Neath, Llandarcy, Brecon Beacons, and Newtown united for a grand tour across Canada.

- Health, Social, and Childcare students gained invaluable insights into global community health during an immersive trip to Sri Lanka.

A huge thanks to everyone who made these experiences possible, and to our amazing students for being such brilliant ambassadors for our college! ✨

April in photos ☀️ It's been a busy month for the international team! Here's just a few of the highlights:

Our Catering and Hospitality students headed to Paphos for an exciting taster of Cypriot cuisine and a hands-on masterclass in a professional kitchen.

We delivered a productive week of our new AI Teacher Training programme with Gansu Construction Vocational Technology College and the UK–China Joint Vocational Skills and Talent Development Centre.

Finally, we said goodbye to our wonderful colleague and founding member of the international team, Steve Rhodes, who is now taking his well-deserved retirement! Of course, we had a lovely celebration to thank him for his work. 👏

We're excited for what May will bring!

Taste of Cyprus: Masterclass in Paphos! 🍽️

Our Catering and Hospitality students just took their culinary skills to the next level. They had the incredible opportunity to step into the professional kitchen at the Park Side Hotel for a hands-on masterclass with their expert Head Chef.

On the menu? Afelia, a pork in red wine dish, paired with couscous with vermicelli and tomatoes, and sides of classic Tzatziki and keftedes.

A massive thank you to the team at Park Side Hotel for being such inspiring mentors and giving our students an experience they’ll never forget, and to Taith for making all this possible!

Our Catering & Hospitality students headed to the mountains on day 4 for a journey through time and taste! 🏰

Starting the morning at the historic Kolossi Castle, the group explored the medieval halls once inhabited by Richard the Lionheart. They then went further into the mountains to tour the stunning Church of the Holy Cross.

The afternoon was a highlight for our budding experts as the students toured a local vineyard and winery to learn about the island's ancient viticulture.

The final stop was a traditional village where the students rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on cookery demonstration and everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner of homemade moussaka and burger.

A huge thanks to Taith for supporting this fantastic trip of heritage and hospitality! 🍷🍳

Our Catering & Hospitality students headed inland today for a deep dive into the heart of Cypriot tradition for day 3 of their trip! 🧀

The morning began at a local goats' cheese farm, where the group watched the fascinating process of making authentic halloumi and anari. It was a true "farm-to-table" experience, and the students thoroughly enjoyed sampling the fresh cheese.

The journey continued into Nicosia, where the group toured the historic old city walls and the grand entrance gates. After a visit to the Green Line to see the city's unique geography, the students explored the longest pedestrian shopping street in the city. It was the perfect afternoon for soaking up the local culture!

Our Catering & Hospitality students are soaking up every bit of inspiration in Cyprus! ☀️

Day 2 was a perfect blend of culture, local craftsmanship, and relaxation. The day started with a visit to the legendary Aphrodite’s Rock before heading to a local Yeroskipos delight producer. From rose to pistachio, the students tasted every flavour (for research, of course!) 🍬

A stroll through the Paphos Harbour mosaics offered a deep dive into ancient art, followed by a seaside and the mandatory ice cream. 🍦 A beautiful but breezy 23°C day!

That's a wrap on our AI Teacher Training programme! 💻

We’ve had a great week with Gansu Construction Vocational Technology College (甘肃建筑职业技术学院) and the UK–China Joint Vocational Skills and Talent Development Centre exploring the core principles of effective teaching supported by generative AI, addressing both the challenges and opportunities.

Over the last 3 days, we‘ve reviewed blended-learning models, assessment methodologies and classroom management all in the era of generative AI.

Congratulations to all the participants for completing the course! ✨

☀️ Touchdown in Paphos!

Our Catering and Hospitality students have officially arrived in Cyprus for an unforgettable trip!

After a smooth flight from Birmingham, the group landed to a stunning 29°C and sunshine. The students spent the afternoon exploring the beach and recharging for a busy few days ahead.

Today the group will be diving into the local food scene and meeting some amazing Paphos food producers!
