The Sports Department is deeply saddened by the passing of Andrew Llewellyn.

A former student, studying Sport Science at Neath College from 1997 to 2001 and someone who will always be remembered as a true gentleman. During his time with us, Andrew was an integral part of an exceptionally strong college rugby team that achieved remarkable success, winning both the Welsh Schools League and Cup.
A tough, committed, and selfless player, Andrew made an enormous contribution to the team’s achievements. He was also a key member of the squad that toured South Africa in 1999, where the team went on to win the International Schools Tournament at Affies School in Pretoria. His teammates and coaches held him in the highest regard—not just for his ability, but for the immense amount of unseen work he put in on the field to help the team succeed.

Andrew will be remembered with great respect and fondness by all who knew him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family at this difficult time.

✨ What an incredible, inspirational session today delivered by Lloyd Ashley! ✨

Our students were fully engaged, motivated, and left with so much to think about. Sessions like this remind us just how powerful open conversations can be.

Taking time to talk, really listen, and check in with one another isn’t just important — it’s essential. Whether it’s a friend, a classmate, or even just asking yourself “how am I doing today?”, these small moments can make a huge difference to our wellbeing.

Thank you so much Lloyd for helping us keep the conversation going. Let’s look out for each other. 💬💙

✨ Pa sesiwn ysbrydoledig anhygoel heddiw gyda Lloyd Ashley! ✨

Roedd ein myfyrwyr yn gwbl ymgysylltiedig, wedi’u hysgogi, ac wedi gadael gyda llawer i feddwl amdano. Mae sesiynau fel hyn yn ein hatgoffa pa mor bwerus yw sgyrsiau agored.

Mae cymryd amser i siarad, gwrando’n wirioneddol, a chadw golwg ar ein gilydd nid yn unig yn bwysig — mae’n hanfodol. Boed hynny gyda ffrind, cyd-fyfyriwr, neu hyd yn oed gofyn i chi’ch hun “sut ydw i heddiw?”, gall y eiliadau bach hyn wneud gwahaniaeth mawr i’n lles.

Gadewch i ni gadw’r sgwrs i fynd. Gadewch i ni ofalu am ein gilydd. 💬💙
