We are pleased to share this article by Em Prof. Catherine McGowan BVSc, MANZCVSC, DEIM, Dip ECEIM, CertVBM, PhD, FHEA, FRCVS, published in the Veterinary Clinics of North America special issue on Muscle Disease in Horses.
It has a focus on intrinsic traumatic muscle injuries, broadly divided into exercise-induced muscle damage, including delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and muscle injury, including muscle and musculotendinous tears. It is an area under represented in the veterinary literature, but an extremely important area for all athletes and may be of particular interest to our Veterinary Physiotherapy colleagues. Veterinary physiotherapists, we're inviting you to take part in our survey investigating occupational injuries associated with working with horses.

The study is being undertaken by veterinary physiotherapist and postgraduate student Victoria as part of her University of Liverpool Master’s degree. All answers are valuable to our research and you do not have to have sustained an injury at work to participate in the study.

If you would like to take part (the questionnaire is completely anonymous), please click on the link or scan the QR code and read through the information before completing the online survey.

Thank you in advance for participating - it really helps improve our understanding of the risks involved in working with horses as a veterinary physiotherapist.

Did you know that for our Australian and New Zealand students, some of the practical residential school learning can be undertaken in Australia.

Here are some pictures from the most recent residential school this month, which took place between Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast and included Hydrotherapy Skills with Holistic Animal Physiotherapy and static stretching with Active Animal Physiotherapy.
