Fentrade is proud to have renewed its membership with the Council for Aluminium in Building for 2026.

CAB is the UK’s only trade body representing the aluminium in building supply chain, supporting companies involved in system design, fabrication, finishing, specialist manufacturing and installation. Its role is to promote the use of aluminium in construction, provide technical guidance, keep members informed on regulations and standards, and represent the sector across government, industry, and the wider construction supply chain.

A great project to partner LEB Construction Limited with, never get tired of seeing the vibrant colours!

Working with Fentrade Limited and LEB Construction Ltd, AluK systems were used to help bring architect Mathew Tench’s Mondrian-inspired façade to life on the west Wales coast, a highly visual but technically demanding design.

Across the scheme:

SL52 capped curtain walling (including large-scale façade screens and custom detailing)

58BW HI tilt & turn windows

GT55 commercial doors

The standout challenge was integrating the coloured aluminium panels within the curtain walling system, which required close coordination between AluK (GB) - The Experts in Aluminium’s technical team and Fentrade Limited’s fabrication expertise. That collaboration allowed the mullion caps to be adapted so the panels could run across the façade without compromising performance.

Another key part of the project was training and support with LEB Construction Ltd receiving installation training at AluK’s Chepstow Academy, backed up by site support throughout.

The result is a durable, coastal-ready façade that delivers both architectural impact and long-term performance in a demanding environment.

A good example of what happens when design intent, fabrication and system expertise are aligned from the start.

When Fentrade takes on a new product, our fabrication team undergo full training to give them confidence in the manufacturing process and ensure the product always reaches the customer in first-class condition - made to the standards set out by the systems company.

Our team recently completed on-site training with AluK (GB) - The Experts in Aluminium for the IconiK bifold door, allowing a larger group of fabricators to be trained at the same time.

AluK provide a full and comprehensive training programme with every product they launch, and we took advantage of this to ensure the team had hands-on experience with the system, its fabrication process and the standards required.

The IconiK bifold was launched earlier in the year and is already receiving a great deal of interest from existing and new customers, offering greater product benefits, quicker turnaround and deliveries to site if required.

Key benefits include:

- New slim sash design providing glass-to-glass sightlines across sashes of only 87mm

- Clip-on cill nosing to reduce threshold height

- Clip-in beads to speed up the installation process

- Purpose-designed hardware and furniture for enhanced aesthetics

- Ability to produce single and double doors to complement the bifolds or as stand-alone products

A strong addition to our aluminium product range, backed by comprehensive supplier training and fabricated in-house by our experienced team.

The remodelling of our new factory and office space is now drawing to a close, and over the coming weeks we’ll be moving the short distance across Newport into a much larger facility.

The new site will provide nearly three times more production capacity, backed by over £450,000 of investment in plant and machinery. The enhanced capacity will complement more modern office space and a dedicated showroom featuring our full aluminium range.

Once fully settled in, we’ll be holding an industry open day so customers can experience the new facilities first-hand. More details on that to follow shortly, but in the meantime we're sharing the key dates relating to the move:

Monday 18th of May

Sales office closed while office staff relocate. Main phone and broadband lines may be temporarily unavailable at points during the day, but if you need to get in touch please contact Chris directly on 07368 370251.

Monday 25th to Friday 29th of May

Current factory facility closed while production equipment is moved. Should this be completed ahead of schedule, production will recommence and customers will be advised accordingly.

Fentrade is pleased to confirm that we’ll be exhibiting at FIT Show 2027, taking place from 18th–20th May 2027 at the NEC Birmingham.

As the only exhibition of its kind for the industry, FIT Show brings together leading suppliers from across the sector under one roof and attracts 10,000 visitors annually. Fentrade has exhibited at the last three shows and is delighted to be returning once again alongside an estimated 200 industry brands.

We’ll be showcasing some of our latest aluminium fabricated products, while also giving customers and industry contacts the opportunity to meet our fantastic team in person.

Fentrade manufactured and supplied a bespoke aluminium glazing package for a recent Pedalabikeaway project - supporting the extension of the existing bicycle hire and repair premises with a new retail space under the evolved Pedal Syndicate banner.

Finished in matt black, the package was fabricated using Jack Aluminium low-rise curtain walling and included inset commercial entrance doors with contrasting fixed pad handles - creating a clean, contemporary frontage in line with the architect’s design.

There has been major progress at our new premises at Unit 2A since acquiring the building in February, with extensive remodelling now well underway across both the external façade and internal factory and office spaces.

Externally, the addition of modern cladding sheets is giving the building a strong new industrial look, while the installation of AluK 58BW windows and GT55 entrance doors in Fentrade brand colours is further enhancing the frontage and aligning the premises more closely with our primary systems supplier.

Internally, the infrastructure has been significantly upgraded, with new data rooms created, enlarged employee welfare facilities introduced, and the factory layout reworked to maximise efficiency across the manufacturing process - particularly with the recent installation of the new Elumatec SBZ145.

The remodelling works are due to be completed in early May, at which point the relocation of the existing operation will begin, with minimal disruption to both sales and production.

Fentrade has made a significant investment in manufacturing capability with the addition of an Elumatec SBZ145 Profile Machining Centre to our operation.

Installed at our brand-new HQ last week as part of our wider expansion plans, the new machine will further mechanise the fabrication process - improving production efficiency and further enhancing the high standards of quality our trade customers expect.
