Our Students Help Celebrate 50 Years of Medina Marching Band! ✨🎺
We are incredibly proud of our Public Services and Business students who volunteered at the Medina Marching Band 50th Anniversary Tattoo.

This major community event welcomed visiting bands from across the mainland, alongside dignitaries, performers and hundreds of spectators. Our students played a key role in helping the day run smoothly, gaining valuable real-world experience in event management, customer service, teamwork and leadership.

From helping with event set-up and managing arrivals, to guiding performers to rehearsals, welcoming guests and assisting with car parking, the students took on every challenge with enthusiasm, professionalism and confidence. They represented the college brilliantly and received fantastic feedback from the organisers.

Events like this provide invaluable opportunities for students to develop practical skills, build confidence and make a positive contribution to the local community.
A huge thank you to Medina Marching Band IW for allowing our students to be part of such a special celebration.

Congratulations to everyone involved – you should be incredibly proud of what you achieved!

Alex and Laurel from Eat Street, an Island’s mobile street food caterer, recently visited us. They kindly donated bowls and plates to support our Catering Department and took the time to work with and inspire our students. They enjoyed seeing our students in action during a busy service. Alex, a former student and now an ambassador for The Burnt Chef Project, a charity that highlights and supports the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the hospitality industry.
It’s inspiring to see a past student return to share their journey, valuable industry skills, and support such an important cause. Huge thanks to Alex and Laurel for their generosity and continued support of our students πŸ‘πŸ½οΈ

Inclusion at IW College
Following a recent Inclusion Update conference, one message stood out clearly: true inclusion is shaped by culture, relationships and the everyday experiences of our learners. It’s a shared responsibility, and every interaction across college plays a part in helping students feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.

We’re proud to be strengthening this focus, inclusion is now being led as a whole‑college approach, with our former Additional Learning Support area renamed Inclusion to reflect this wider commitment.

Our Inclusion Officers β€” Gina Dawson, Julie Sturrock and Zoe Thomas β€” lead our brilliant Inclusion Administrators and LSA teams. If you're a student, feel free to pop into F Block to meet the team, ask questions or talk about how we can support you! πŸ’¬βœ¨

Together, we’re building an inclusive college where everyone belongs. πŸ’™
