More than 40 students from the class of 25/26 have left a wonderful legacy for the college by planting a mini forest and wellbeing area on our campus. 💚

🌳 800 native saplings were planted for the ‘Miyawaki’ mini forest, which is set to grow rapidly thanks to ultra-dense planting - a method pioneered by Japanese botanist Dr. Akira Miyawaki.

🌳 Woodchip paths, willow and sweet chestnut fencing, hedges, and benches were added to complete the new wellbeing area.

🌳 Student involvement will continue for years to come, with learning opportunities in monitoring the progress of the mini forest, maintaining it, and continuing to develop the wellbeing area.

🏆 The efforts of our Land and Wildlife Management, Forestry & Arboriculture, and Agriculture & Rural Studies students have been recognised with a CPRE Norfolk Youth Engagement & Schools Award. 👏👏
