Unai has recently completed his MSc Advanced Motorsport Engineering with a final project exploring how iRacing telemetry can be transformed into practical, data-driven coaching advice.

Developed in Python, his coaching pipeline validates and compares lap data, identifies individual corners, analyses braking, rotation and traction, and highlights the areas where a driver can make the biggest improvements.

The project was tested across nine coaching sessions using the Dallara 324 at Miami International Autodrome. During the study, the driver improved from an initial valid lap of 1:53.511 to a best time of 1:50.535, gaining 2.976 seconds and finishing just 0.082 seconds behind the reference lap. ⏱️

Unai has made the full project and source code publicly available and is inviting the NMA community to try it out and share their feedback.

🚨 BTCC fans - Thomas needs your help! 🚨

Thomas is studying the MA Business of Motorsport with the National Motorsport Academy and is currently completing his final Executive Project.

As part of his research, he is looking for BTCC fans to complete a short survey about the future of touring cars in a changing car market.

The survey takes around five minutes to complete, and every response would be a huge help:
