Edge Hill BSc-Hons Nutrition and Health

Edge Hill BSc-Hons Nutrition and Health This group has been set up for Nutrition and Health students and graduates of Edge Hill to keep them informed with departmental news and useful information

The BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Health programme has been designed as a proactive response to a challenging health care agenda. The programme is directed towards students who are interested in acquiring an in depth knowledge of nutritional needs, when working with individuals, groups and communities from conception to old age. The programme will enable the student to use nutritional and dietary knowl

edge to support government policy initiatives and the health of individuals and communities. The Nutritional Strategy Framework (FSA, 2000) identifies a number of objectives needed to improve both knowledge and practical aspects of nutrition, throughout society. In order to achieve these outcomes, practical guidance on nutritional needs will be needed at various levels in society, as knowledge will need to be disseminated by those working in communities. This programme will equip graduates to work in a variety of such settings.
