Did you live in Garden Building? We'd love to hear your memories. 🌿

This Giving Day, we're not only raising support for students today - we're also helping to secure the future of the Garden Building through our restoration project, ensuring we can continue to provide sustainable and affordable accommodation for St Hilda's undergraduates for generations to come.

As part of the project, we're creating a Garden Building Memory Wall and inviting alumnae around the world to share their stories and photos from their time there.

You don't need to make a gift to take part, though they are hugely appreciated! Your memories are an important part of St Hilda's story.

If you'd also like to support the Garden Building Restoration project and other Giving Day priorities with a donation, every gift will make a difference.

Share your memories and photos, see stories from fellow alumnae, and support Giving Day by following the link in the comments.

St Hilda’s Giving Day 2026 is officially live!

Today, we celebrate the incredible community that makes St Hilda’s College such a vibrant and inspiring place. The Giving Day is our chance to come together and make a tangible difference in the lives of our students, both now and in the future.

To find out more about this year's Giving Day priorities, watch our launch video, where our Principal, Dame Sarah Springman and current students share what makes St Hilda's such a special place and explains how your support can make a meaningful difference. From restoring the historic Garden Building and investing in a more sustainable future to enhancing the Student Wellbeing Programme, the video brings to life the impact that Giving Day can have across our community.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps strengthen our College and ensures that the legacy of excellence and inclusivity continues for generations to come.

Throughout the day, we’ll be sharing stories, celebrating milestones, and highlighting the impact that gifts like yours make. We invite you to join us, follow the day’s events, and see how the Hilda’s community can come together to achieve extraordinary things.

Make your gift today and help us reach our Giving Day goals by following the link in the comments.

Congratulation to Rosie Sutton (Music, 2024) who won 3rd place at the annual Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year (SSSSPOTY) competition final, representing the University of Oxford.

The competition is in honour of musical theatre composer, Stephen Sondheim and takes at the Sondheim Theatre in the West End. In it, twelve finalists perform two musical theatre songs in front of a live audience and a judging panel of industry professionals. Rosie is the first student from a university (as opposed to a drama school) to have reached the final in several years!

The countdown is on... Only 5 days until the St Hilda's Giving Day is live!

Across the two days, we’ll be celebrating the St Hilda’s community while raising funds to support the future of the College.

Advance giving is open, and thanks to a generous supporter, all donations made ahead of Giving Day will be matched up to £20,000, doubling the impact of your gift.

Discover how St Hilda's gave alumna Val McDermid (English, 1972) The Edge, then add your own story to the memory wall on our Giving Day page.
