How can jazz help us think about meaning, community, and peace? 🎶
This Wednesday, we're delighted to welcome Revd Dr Tim Boniface to Oxford as part of our Jazz Spiritualities series.
Tim is an acclaimed jazz musician, theologian, and Chaplain of Girton College, University of Cambridge, whose work explores the rich intersections of music, faith, and human flourishing.
His lecture, 'The Meaning of the Blues: Questions of hermeneutics, community and meaning through a jazz suite for peace', will draw on his experience as both performer and theologian to consider what jazz can teach us about interpretation, community, and the search for meaning.
The timing is particularly apt, as the Church Times has just published a feature on Tim's distinctive vocation at the intersection of music and faith, which you can read here: https://www.churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2026/5-june/features/features/music-be-the-food-of-faith
