Centre for Musculoskeletal Science Collaborative biomedical research group between the University of the West of Scotland, and the University of Glasgow.

The Centre for Musculoskeletal Science (CMS) is an established collaboration between the (University of the West of Scotland and the University of Glasgow with a primary focus on pathogenic mechanisms driving arthritis. Other clinical interests include dermatological vascular disturbances and their treatment. Research spans fundamental to clinical levels. Centre expertise includes clinical physiol

ogy, pharmacology, immunology, bioengineering and biotechnology. The centre adopts an integrated system's approach combined with a molecular base of research to enable comprehensive investigations at cellular, genetic and functional levels.

KTP Success:
UWS along with Antibody Analytics, have secured a KTP award for a 30 month project (£260k), starting 2024. Dr Gary Litherland (Knowledge Base Lead), Dr Anne Crilly (Knowledge Base Supervisor) and Professor John Lockhart (Supporting Academic) will work with Antibody Analytics to develop patient-derived tissue explant models of disease.
