d, the French revolution, cinema-going and leisure, and anti-racist activism to name just a few. We are all interested in people in the past - in individuals, their societies and the cultures that they helped to create. As a History student at Portsmouth you will study the past in a city teaming with its own unique past. You will have the chance to think about the impact of this history on the streets that you walk each day and how they fit into local, national and global networks and were influenced by the big issues like class, gender, race and generation.
