πŸ‰βš½ Helping sports coaches and staff recognise and respond to concussion in college sport.

This week, our Sports Medicine academics delivered a CPD session for staff at Cardinal Newman College, exploring how to identify and manage concussion in a sporting environment.

Through expert insight and practical activities, staff learned how to recognise concussion symptoms, make informed decisions following head injuries, and respond appropriately to support athlete safety and wellbeing.

A brilliant opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen best practice, and support safer participation in sport!

Not getting the grades you hoped for doesn't have to mean giving up on your career goals πŸ’‘

When Esther Blaxhall missed the grades for her first-choice course, she chose a different route into healthcare through Clearing and joined our accelerated BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences degree.

Fast forward four years, and Esther is graduating with both an undergraduate degree and a Master's in Physician Associate Practice. ✨

She credits Medical Sciences with helping her build a strong foundation in healthcare, develop valuable clinical skills and progress confidently into postgraduate study.

Her advice to students considering Clearing?

πŸ’¬ "Don't be scared of Clearing. Ask questions, be open about what you want to achieve and trust the process."

If you're exploring your options this Results Day, Medical Sciences could be the first step towards a rewarding healthcare career.
