If your home country uses a different plug type, make sure you bring an adaptor so you can charge your phone and other devices when you arrive.

5 things you can’t bring into your student accommodation 🙅‍♀️🏡

1. Electric heaters 🔥
Electric heaters, electric blankets, and humidifiers can pose a safety risk, so they aren’t permitted in your room.

2. Kitchen appliances 🍳
Kitchen appliances aren’t permitted in bedrooms. Most of the essentials you’ll need are already provided in the shared kitchens, so there’s no need to bring your own.

3. Air conditioning units ❄️
They’re too bulky for student rooms, so portable air conditioning units aren’t permitted.

4. Candles or other flammable items 🕯️
Open flames and other flammable items can be a fire hazard, so these will need to stay at home.

5. Pets 🐾
As much as we love them, pets aren’t allowed in student accommodation, so your furry friends will have to stay at home.

5 things that are worth the money... International student edition!

1. Snacks from home 🌶️
A little taste of home goes a long way when those late night cravings hit. Trust us, you’ll want to have some on hand!

2. A sturdy umbrella ☔️
With the UK’s unpredictable weather, you never know when you’ll need one. A good umbrella is definitely worth having.

3. Noise-cancelling headphones 🎧
From busy library sessions to bus commutes, a good pair of headphones are perfect for helping you stay focused and feeling good.

4. Spacious uni bag 🎒
You can never have a bag that’s too big! Make sure there’s enough room for your laptop or tablet, stationary, and all your everyday essentials.

5. A warm winter coat 🧥
Even if there's no snow, UK winters can get pretty chilly. A warm, padded coat will definitely come in handy when the temperatures drop.
