Update:

Having spoken to Vicky (person in charge of RUSU societies), we will unfortunately have to suspend this society and reset it back in October. The deadline is over and tomorrow would have been the first training committee session.

I am really hoping that there is enough interest to restart this society in October, but this time, we have to plan ahead. Those who are interested in running for those 4 positions mentioned previously, please send your manifestos and we can organise an informal election to present you as candidates and restart the society in October. Please please PLEASE get those manifestos coming ASAP.

As the whole ID Soc, we would like to thank Finn (current welfare rep) and Sam (treasurer), who are leaving next year, for their work done this year! Wishing you all the best!!

Hey all again!

I have received a message from Vicky, RUSU Societies and Media Coordinator and she has urged us to put forward candidates for next year's committee by the end of today, otherwise the ID Soc is not able to re-affiliate for next year.

Please can you simply pop us an email as soon as you see this if you are interested in running for any of the 4 positions available:

President
Treasurer
Welfare Rep
or, Social Sec

It would be a shame that no one is interested in carrying on with all the effort both, last year and this year's committees have put into starting this society.

The current committee is willing to run for any position that does not get any candidates.

Again, this is urgent now and I hope I can get a response from any of you. Thank you.

Guys, get those manifestos coming!

It is an amazing opportunity for you to take the lead of such a recent, but exciting society which would look fab in your CVs! You would be able to complement your degree with fun events you can come up with, meets lots of interesting people that you may then be able to call friends, and so much more!

This year's committee would be there to help you in the preparation of events, any guiding you need, so there is nothing to worry about!

Please can we receive them by the end of tomorrow! We haven't received any yet and we are starting to get a little worried...

Best of luck with exams and please please please get back to us!

03/05/2017

Get started on your manifestos to run for any of the 4 available positions for next year's ID committee!

Please send them to [email protected] by the end of Friday.

Good luck!

Hello all! With this academic year coming to an end, it is time to choose next year's committee.

There are 4 position available:
President
Treasurer
Social Sec
Welfare Rep

We really encourage you to put yourselves forward for one of these roles. If you're interested, by the end of the week please send us to our email: [email protected] a bit about yourself and why would you want to represent this society, as well as any ideas that you could contribute with!

It is a busy time of the year for all of us so we thought that the best way of holding elections would be via an online poll, once we have received all the applications.

We would like to apologise for not being as active as we would have liked to, but this is only the second year running so we hope you take and enjoy this challenge!

Best of luck with all your exams and looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Love,
ID Soc ###

Reading University Model United Nations Society- RUMUN is holding their 2016 International Model United Nations Conference, which will take place on the last weekend of November, starting on the evening of Friday 25th, until Sunday 27th.

More than 100 people from all over the UK and beyond (from Russia, to Bangladesh, to Nigeria), will be participating.

The Human Rights Council (HRC) could also interest you, with the following topics:
