This week in A level English, we once again welcomed the fantastic Dr Ranjan Sen, a senior lecturer at The University of Sheffield in Linguistics.

Dr Sen specialises in phonology - the study of the sounds of language. We learnt about how we produce different sounds, how some of the sounds of English vary across the country, and how our brain works hard to make sure we don’t make too many embarrassing mistakes!

Students were blown away by Dr Sen’s knowledge and passion, and he was impressed by our students’ enthusiasm and engagement.

A big thank you to Dr Sen and our Year 12 linguists!

It was fantastic to see so many people engaging, sharing, and supporting each another during Mental Heath Awareness Week.

Whether you joined in on the activities, came to speak with the team in the Courtyard, opened and looked at your wellbeing kits, posed at the photo booth, took a moment to pause, or started conversations that might not have happened otherwise, your involvement has made a real difference. 💚💚💚
