Fun Friday Fact: Blisters are your skinโ€™s tiny alarm system ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿšจ

Did you know a blister is your bodyโ€™s way of protecting the skin from too much rubbing?

When your shoe, sock or activity creates repeated friction, fluid can build up under the top layer of skin. It may look annoying, but that little bubble is actually trying to cushion and protect the area.

A few quick facts:
๐Ÿงฆ Socks that bunch up can cause extra rubbing
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ New shoes are one of the biggest blister culprits
๐Ÿšถ Long walks, warm weather and sweaty feet can make blisters more likely
โš ๏ธ Popping a blister can increase the risk of infection, especially if the skin underneath is exposed

Simple tip for the weekend: if you are wearing new shoes, break them in gradually and keep an eye out for โ€œhot spotsโ€ before they turn into blisters.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Fun question for this Friday:
What has given you the worst blister?
New shoes ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ
A long walk ๐Ÿšถ
Holiday sandals ๐Ÿ‘ก
Work shoes ๐Ÿง‘โš•๏ธ

Fun Friday Fact: Your feet have built-in cushions ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ

Did you know your feet have natural padding under the heels and balls of the feet?
These fatty pads act like shock absorbers, helping to protect bones and joints every time you stand, walk, or move.

A few quick facts:
๐Ÿฆถ The heel and ball of the foot take a lot of daily pressure
๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ Natural padding helps absorb impact
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ As we age, this cushioning can reduce, which may make hard floors and thin-soled shoes feel less comfortable

It is one reason why supportive footwear can make such a difference, especially for people who spend a lot of time on their feet.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Fun question for this Friday:
What feels best after a long day on your feet?
Supportive trainers ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ
Comfy slippers ๐Ÿฅฟ
Feet up on the sofa ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ
A foot soak ๐Ÿซง

Fun Friday Fact: Your Achilles tendon is a power cable for walking ๐Ÿ‘ฃโšก

Did you know the Achilles tendon is one of the strongest tendons in the body?
It connects your calf muscles to your heel bone and helps you push off the ground every time you walk, climb stairs, run, or stand on tiptoe.

A few quick facts:
โšก It helps power every step you take
๐Ÿฆต Tight calves can place extra strain on the heel and foot
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Supportive footwear and gentle stretching can make a big difference to comfort
It is a small reminder that foot health is not just about the toes and nails. The whole lower limb works together to keep us moving.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Fun question for this Friday:
What makes your feet or calves feel the most tired?
Stairs ๐Ÿชœ
Long walks ๐Ÿšถ
Standing all day ๐Ÿ™‹
New shoes ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

Fun Friday Fact: Your foot has more than one arch ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐ŸŒ‰

When people talk about โ€œthe arch of the footโ€, they usually think of just one arch.
But your foot has three main arches working together to support your body, absorb shock and help you move smoothly.

A few quick facts:
๐Ÿ‘ฃ Your arches help spread body weight across the foot
โš–๏ธ They support balance when standing and walking
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Poor footwear, pressure, injury, or foot structure can all affect how your arches feel

That is why arch discomfort can sometimes show up as tired feet, heel pain, pressure under the ball of the foot, or even changes in how someone walks.

Foot Health Practitioners often look at foot shape, pressure areas, and footwear to help people understand what their feet are trying to tell them.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Fun question for this Friday:
Do you think you have:
High arches โ›ฐ๏ธ
Low arches ๐Ÿ‘ฃ
No idea ๐Ÿคท
