21-23/11/25

In the last trip of 2025, STAUMC visited Inverlochy. We enjoyed the snowy hills (while it lasted), Christmas dinner and a ceilidh in the cramped village hall.

Many thanks to instructor (and ex-president) Bee for running some workshops on winter skills! :)

A few weeks ago STAUMC headed up to Glen Affric!

After a walk/slow bumpy drive up to the hut under the stars, the weather turned on us and became very wet. However everyone managed to get out into the hills, with many bagging their first munros!
A lack of water and power for most of the stay made for a very rustic experience - perfect for forgetting deadlines exist.

Highlights of the trip were: cooking by headtorch, rescuing a fish from the toilet bucket, getting locked into the track on our way home and cosy evenings by the fire playing monopoly and drinking tea!

10-12/10/25

Last weekend we headed up to
Kinlochewe! We really lucked out on the weather allowing lots of hills to be summited (above the clouds) and crags to be climbed on.

Big thanks to Malcolm Airey who came on this trip and taught us some sport, trad and rescue skills!

First trip of the semester - Glencoe! ⛰️🌟

Despite the excessive sog and wind on Satueday, everyone got out in the hills, and all came back to eat enormous amounts of chickpea curry. (Big up the chefs)
Sunday saw teams getting out and making use of the drier weather on the Aonach Eagach, Agags groove and Crypt route! I heard a rumour that everyone got back to St Andrews at a reasonable hour...
