🌄🇪🇸 Spain Field Trip 🇪🇸🌄
Great few days mapping the Sierra del Norte, north of Madrid 🗺️⛏️—a brilliant field trip for our second year Earth scientists!
Mostly sunny ☀️ with one unforgettable thunderstorm day ⛈️
Everyone had a great time and learned loads—even the lecturers! 📚💡 Thanks to Hector at the hostel for a great stay in Berzosa 🙌🏡

🌿🏔️ Lake District Fieldtrip 🏔️🌿

An amazing week where students climbed Helvellyn ⛰️ while collecting atmospheric data 💨, and carried out water quality 💧 and carbon storage 🌱 investigations at Thirlmere and Glenridding. Data collected will support their independent research projects 📊✨ Fantastic effort all round! 👏🌍

Third-year Sedimentology students at Seafield Tower yesterday near Kirkcaldy examining excellent Carboniferous sections with exceptionally preserved fossils 🐚🔍

Corals, bryozoans, brachiopods, trilobites, echinoids and more were all recorded in the field, helped by amazing sunshine ☀️

A productive day in the field, with an early finish as the equinox high tide pushed us off the rocks 🌊

Our former PhD student Clive Phillips has created a powerful film to raise awareness and support research funding after his diagnosis with Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN) — a rare degenerative disease affecting nerves and muscle use.
