Across the UK, many LGBTQIA+ people continue to experience loneliness and exclusion, alongside challenges shaped by discrimination, cultural prejudice, and the long-term erasure of q***r histories 🏳️‍🌈

Dr Charlotte Jones is exploring how creativity and open dialogue can help address this, strengthening a sense of belonging within LGBTQIA+ communities.

By creating opportunities for shared experiences, discussion, and expression, her work highlights the importance of inclusive spaces where individuals feel seen, heard, and connected.

This research not only deepens our understanding of loneliness but also demonstrates how community-led approaches can make a meaningful difference to wellbeing.

Understanding how gender, power and violence intersect is key to addressing some of the most urgent social challenges of our time ⚥

The first of its kind in Wales, our MA Gender, Power and Violence, offers a research-led, interdisciplinary perspective on gender-based violence, inequality and social justice in local and global contexts.

The course brings together critical theory and applied learning, including the use of virtual reality to explore new approaches to preventing violence against women.
