Our new page will be more active, more organised, and more aligned with what you want to see — from student life and event updates to midwifery news and committee opportunities.

🌟 We've been a little quiet... but for a good reason! 🌟

Over the past few weeks, our amazing midwifery cohorts have been head-down, focused, and working incredibly hard on final placements, sitting exams, and submitting MPADs for grading. 🎓📝

💫 A HUGE good luck to everyone receiving results — your hard work and dedication is inspiring, and we’re cheering you on as you progress into your next year of training! 💪

🎉 Shoutout to our Year 3 students who have begun their pre-qualifying placements — this is such a special and pivotal time as you prepare to gain your PINs and take your well-earned place on that graduation stage, caps and gowns ready! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️🎓

Midwives play a crucial role in engaging fathers and partners, ensuring inclusive, family-centred care, and promoting bonding with the newborn. Let’s honour and empower fathers to be active participants in the perinatal journey.

🩸 World Blood Donor Day – 14th June 2025 🩸
Today we acknowledge the life-saving gift of blood donation and its critical role in maternal health. Blood transfusions are essential in managing obstetric emergencies, particularly postpartum haemorrhage (PPH), which remains a leading cause of maternal mortality globally.
As midwives, we advocate for safe blood transfusion practices, appropriate cross-matching, and adherence to local protocols to ensure every mother receives the care she needs.
Let’s raise awareness of the need for regular, voluntary blood donation to support safe motherhood.

🎉 10 Years of Swansea MidSoc! 🎉

This week marks a whole decade since the Swansea Midwifery Society was founded back in 2015 by two passionate student midwives, Annmarie Thomas and Kizzy Pritchard. 💜

We’ve been made aware that some of you are having trouble purchasing tickets to our Student Midwife Conference via the SU event page. 💻 If you’re registering with a new account, please make sure to validate your email before trying to check out – that should fix the issue for most people!

BUT – just in case it doesn’t… 🎟️
