An opportunity has arisen for a temporary summer placement for an assistant gardener at Torry Hill Farm, supporting an established team of two with:

• Major renovation and reworking of two formal gardens
• Maintenance of formal gardens, a large vegetable and cut flower garden, and a holiday accommodation complex

Tools and training will be provided, but applicants should have their own appropriate clothing.

The position will be based at Torry Hill Farm, near Sittingbourne, postcode ME9 0SP.

The position will be available for the entire length of the Hadlow summer break, but may be negotiated. Working hours are anticipated to be 7:30am-4pm Monday-Thursday, and 7:30am-3pm Friday, but may be negotiated. This will be a paid position, at the Real Living Wage of £13.45/hour.

Immediate Start | Seasonal Harvest Position

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking seasonal harvest student to join our team immediately to assist in the grain lab throughout the 2026 harvest season.

This role will involve supporting the testing and sampling of crops during:
• Whole crop harvest
• Combinable crop harvest
• Maize harvest
Responsibilities:
• Collecting and preparing grain and forage samples
• Moisture and quality testing
• Recording and organising harvest data
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the grain lab
• Assisting the harvest team as required during busy periods

Ideal Candidate:
• Agricultural student or someone with an interest in farming/agriculture
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Able to work flexible and sometimes long hours during peak harvest periods
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced harvest environment
• Full driving licence preferred but not essential
Due to location, own transport will be required.

Previous grain lab or harvest experience is beneficial but not required, as training can be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a busy harvest operation and develop practical agricultural knowledge.

We’re looking for a Horse & Pony Assistant Manager at Epsom RDA to help care for our herd of up to 14 wonderful equines and support the 230+ volunteers who make our sessions possible.

If you’re calm, confident, great with people, passionate about equine welfare and want to make a real difference, for both people and ponies, we’d love to hear from you.

20 hrs/week (including a weekend session)

WHAT YOU'LL DO: Daily care for our horses & ponies including supporting schooling, hacking & groundwork. Help train and guide volunteers and assist with yard & grazing management plus, keep our herd happy, healthy and ready for RDA sessions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: A warm, friendly communicator with strong horse handling skills including at least 2+ years’ yard experience. BHS Stage 2 (or working towards it), safeguarding (or willingness to train) plus a full driving licence. An Enhanced DBS will also be required.
