Saturday Penzance Food Festival you did not disappoint.

Great weather, awesome chefs, stunning food, audience interaction, tastings, fun and laughter. And of course our students, tutors and Charlie!!! Senara Restaurant Penwith College

Nick Hemming showing what a legend he is. After a big year in the kitchens Heron Inn Malpas and out on the road with he still finds the time and a smile for this great food fest and our students. Good work!

Next up the lovely duo that is Caleb Munday and Terri from Mousehole Deli & Kitchen who never cease to amaze us with their commitment to training the next generation and their community. And the food is great too! Crab dish and rump steaks! Can't wait to welcome your apprentices to Penwith this year.

This was then followed with stunning crab pasta by Fred Goodrich of Orta.

And finished with Tom Hunt. What can we say. This had everything. We lost track of the dishes he made. It had everything from Soy sauce taste tests with the audience to cooking huge pieces of meat on the Kamado and making flatbreads and roasting aubergine. With his Commis chef Charlie.

We've been blown away with the engagement with our students at this festival. Great work chefs.

See you today for the final!!!

And that's day two demo stage. What can we say?! What a day.

We had our very own David Izzard (head of hospitality across both campuses) and our amazing student Ari from on stage together. What a pair. And the food was outstanding! Monkfish, pickled slaw, flat bread... And lamb bon bons with parsnip, cream mash, mango and salsa/pomegranate gel. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Great to see the boss out and about cooking and Ari doing such a great job on stage.

And of course all the other great chefs from around the county. Andy Tuck with a delicious surf and turf dish cooked over fire of course and (our) Jeffrey Robinson who had Will knocking up some homemade mayo on stage.

Again, all these chefs and employers giving time and sharing a stage with the next generation. It's hugely appreciated!

Huge thanks to all our students helping out. Great to have you with us!

Can't wait for tomorrow. (And we heard there's sun! Shhh).

Today was the first day of term for new and returning students. Which meant straight on stage for some of our legends!!

They took part in everything from BOH prep to serving customers, washing up, cooking on stage and even picking up the mic and taking on compère duties.

Great to see some of Cornwall's finest talent. Thanks for giving our students an amazing experience. And always a pleasure to see Charlie.

Elsewhere we have been busy planning menus to be launched later in the month at both and lunch menus so good our mouths were salivating. And takeovers so good we can't believe it ourselves!

It's good to be back!

After a hot busy summer... We are back.

We hope all our lovely hospitality business partners out there have had a busy, fun (and prosperous) season. You'll be glad to know the work hasn't stopped either.

Food festivals, staff development, restaurant refurbs, exciting changes and additions to our apprentice and full time delivery teams - and planning our employer engagement. Lunch and dinner takeovers, skills lessons and more festivals than you can shake a mourice at.

Employer engagement is key for our students, apprentices and tutors.

And the applications and interviews haven't stopped! Looking like another big year for new and shiny talent coming through in Cornwall.

Student and apprentice experience and development is at the heart of everything we do and we can't wait to see you all take full advantage of everything on offer!!!

We were invited to one of the first soft opening days of the new hotel. And she's looking gorgeous!

What can we say? The food and drink were fabulous and the team are an Ainsworth collection team (enough said!). The location and view are 2nd to none and it was an honour to be invited over.

Highlight? Had to be serving our food to the table. Always great to see you Paul.

A very important partnership for and

We can't wait to work with your team at the new venue.

Best Sunday Rock Oyster Festival so far!!! What a way to finish. Every single chef and masterclass drinks professional was outstanding today. Such a joy to look after you all.

Wouldn't be right to not mention Marco Pierre White straight off. What an absolute legend and all round great chap! Had lots of time and chat for our students and tutors from Truro College taking time to sign books and give out advice and general good vibes. This meant a lot to all involved.

Next up, best food we've tasted all weekend (and that's saying something) goes to Cherie Denham who fed us just at the right time to keep us going to the end. Bringing a general air of calm and kindness wherever she went. A huge thanks to you. Welcome back in our prep tent anytime!

Then our Truro College slot with Ben from Counter Culture and our very own Elly Owen you were both so good and student Lenny was the icing on a very delicious cake.

Absolute superstar goes to Rose. Ex student who returned from exploring Japan, especially to help out and be part of the festival. Brilliant on stage with Mark Hix who was also rather special.

Jane Baxter for smashing the fire pit on her first time. You were brilliant.

Special mention to our teams running The Masterclass and Fire pit areas. We can't do this without you and all the hard work you put in to keep the show going and the talent happy! Well done indeed!

Lee and Roxy Bater and all your team. This is a really special festival. There is a reason we keep coming back after 6 years and it's because it's so good. People look so happy everywhere and it just keeps getting bigger and better. Charlatans and/or Fontaines DC next year please!

Last but not least Steve Lamb. We love you. Honestly, you make our weekend every time. A beautiful man!

Too many others to mention but a huge thanks for all being amazing. Our team, Rock Team and all the fine talent on all the stages.. .

What a hot, busy, fun, collaborative first day and the Sun is now rising on day two, over the beautiful Rock estuary. Well done team Rock Oyster for putting in an amazing festival as always.

We are so so lucky to have such a great team!!! Students/apprentices both past and present. Tutors that go the extra mile to support both our crew and all the chefs and FOH talent all around. from was our first college demo and went down a storm. George, Tony and our students will be serving up a treat today.

Also, a special mention to some of our close business partners, collaboraters and friends. The best wash up team in the south west. Louisa and of course how have we managed to end up with this lot doing our dishes! Legends

Shout out to the amazing producers and suppliers that have gone above and beyond to deliver all the best Cornish produce and supplies. .co.uk

And and Jess for sorting a van for us to use for the week!

It's these partnerships that are formed in fields, schools, college and industry that last and are beneficial to all. Thank you!!!

One week to go!

Next week we'll be getting ready to welcome all our tutors and students/apprentices, past and present, to the amazing Rock Oyster Festival!!! For the 6th year.

This is an amazing opportunity for all involved. The people we meet and the experience is invaluable.

As always, we'll host the first demos of each day in our slots. We always bring along guests we've been doing great things with recently.

For starters the amazing head chef on Friday

To follow we'll have , representing but always with in his heart! Joined by some of our great students.

And to finish will be Ben Harrison of and .. What a way to end!!!

So, roll out of your tent, grab a coffee and get yourself down to the Pearl Demo stage for the first demo of the day. Perfect way to wake up and always some of the best demos of the weekend. Marco Piere who???

Pop in to see Mark and Tony who will be running back of house again with our fantastic volunteers. We'll always have a brew ready to go.

We work with some of the best talent in Cornwall. From Michelin star chefs to the smallest cafes. From our excellent St Austell brewery pubs to our small independents.

We are as proud to be asked by Paul and his team to help find this year's Ainsworth Academy apprentices (and this year we'll be recruiting for the amazing new St Enedoc!), help Chris Eden build their program at Watergate Bay and find the next superstars... as we are to be asked by Mark Holden to find his next future head chef and Terri and Caleb at Mousehole deli to train their future managers!

From the Headland to Landsend. We love working with you all to deliver excellent training and opportunities to full time students and apprentices. You give everything to this next generation and it's what inspires us to give everything too!

There is a lot of work that goes into these food festivals, charity dinners, employer takeovers, school engagement and all these other opportunities, alongside the excellent day to day. But it's worth it. And we hope it goes a long way with our students and apprentices. Hoping to hear from them this week!!!

Looking forward to working with all our employers new and old and meeting all the new students we welcome through the door next year.

Keep your eyes peeled though. It's not over yet!!!!
