Ireland's Department of Education and Skills (DES) launch a new Digital Strategy for Schools.

The document took almost 3 years to develop and involved a significant amount of research and consultation with a range of educational partners.

The document outlines almost 40 implementation actions. In particular the document plans to adapt the existing UNESCO-ICT Competency Framework for the Irish situation over the next 12 months, to help teachers plan and integrate ICT more deeply into their practice.

It is hoped that this activity will also help teachers in accessing a range of professional learning activities that are varied and meet the wide range of needs within the teaching profession.
