The Earth Observation Research and Innovation Centre, EORIC, is a research centre at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) responsible for the acquisition of near real time satellite-based data, air-borne and in situ data, metadata and products; automatic weather monitoring; operations and management of unmanned aerial systems, virtual regional fire monitoring and modelling, organization of training programmes in the use of earth observation (EO) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques. These are aimed towards making informed decisions in the areas of water, disasters, health, energy, climate, agriculture, ecosystems and biodiversity. The Centre is comprised of six divisions, namely; the Satellite, Weather and Climate division, the High Performance Computing division, the Virtual Environment Laboratory, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) division, and the Climate Informatics division.

EORIC Webinar Series — Episode 1

The Earth Observation Research and Innovation Centre (EORIC), University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), is pleased to invite researchers, students, professionals, policymakers and the general public to the first episode of the EORIC Webinar Series.

Theme: Earth Observation for a Resilient Africa

The webinar will feature Prof. Sheikh Tawhidul Islam, Professor at the Regional Centre for Space Science & Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (RCSSTEAP), Beihang University, China, as Guest Speaker.

The session will provide an opportunity to discuss the role of Earth Observation, geospatial technologies and related innovations in strengthening resilience and supporting sustainable development across Africa.

Exactly one year ago today, a vision became a reality. The first 25 trainees began a remarkable journey at the EORIC-UENR SATCOM Training Hub.

What started as a vision has grown into a platform for knowledge, skills development, and transformation in satellite communications.

Thanks to Commission for TVET Ghana Ghana Skills Development Fund - GSDF National Communications Authority Ghana SatProf, Inc GVF VSAT Training networks technology.
