While applicants for 2022 fall may continually be exempted from submitting SAT/ACT scores for some renown colleges, it is uncertain whether it would be extended or adopted as the new guideline. Alternate indicators such as AP test scores and GPA would likely be relied upon as the yardstick to ensure admitted students' academic achievements will be sustained.

The Board of Governors weren’t united on the issue. Some say the waiver is needed because of COVID disruptions. Others fear it may lower standards.
