Complaint letter for the irresponsibility of the security guards in the campus
To whom it may concern,
As a resident, I am writing to complain about how some of us were treated by the security guard of the undergraduate hall in the past several days.
It was reported that some residents and guests had been restricted to enter the undergraduate halls unreasonably. Around 6pm of 1st October , guests in black were brought by a resident into the hall within the guest period(8am – 11pm). However, a security guard stopped them, claiming that the identities of the guests were yet to be confirmed. After that, he forbade anyone in black to enter the hall.
The situation was not improved after this incident. Although the security guard was warned to follow the rules accurately, a similar incident still happened on 5th October. Around 12:30am, another guard stopped all residents dressed in black from entering the hall and attempted to record their student number.
All residents have the right to enter the undergraduate hall as long as they process their student id card and also to bring in guests within the guest period. The two incidents show that some of the security team tend to violate these rules and exploit the rights of our residents.
I am even more furious about 5 BU students being arrested in the area of CVA. Although they have tried to resist, the guard never intended to protect them from the police, who clearly intervene the campus without permission. Some of the students are currently being charged unlawful assembly due to the negligence of the guard.
Instead of bringing inconvenience to students, the responsibility of a security guard is to ensure their safety. I urge the security team to give punishment to the relevant guards and provide better training to all the security guards in the BU campus as soon as possible.
I hope you will immediately take this matter into your careful consideration and favour us with a prompt solution.
Yours sincerely,
(Name,SID)
Former undergraduate hall resident
