Centuries of Strings and Songs – a demonstration concert on Cantonese Love Songs and Naamyum
世紀弦歌：粵謳與平腔南音專場演出

Cantonese Love Songs have a history spanning over two centuries, dating back to 1810. In this ‘Centuries of Strings and Songs’ demonstration concert, presented in Cantonese, we are honored to have invited Cantonese Love Songs expert Ms. Chen Liying from Guangzhou, Prof. Ching Mei-bo and several musicians to share the essence of this musical genre, along with traditional Naamyam music.

粵謳（音：歐）是以粵語演唱的廣東曲藝，其於廣東省城興起的時間可追溯至1810年代；文字紀錄則可見1828年由南海舉人招子庸（1789－1847）編纂的《越謳》，距今凡兩個世紀。粵謳與廣東南音等說唱曲藝曾為香港電台恆常節目，惟坊間今僅聞《桃花扇》一曲。是次講座音樂會由陳子晉和第四台的林家琦主持，邀來廣州著名曲藝演唱家陳麗英老師、程美寶教授及一眾樂手為觀眾帶來粵謳與平腔南音，兩位老師除演唱外，亦會講解粵謳與平腔南音的歷史及藝術特色，陳老師更把塵封港台多年的粵謳重新記譜並即場演譯，讓觀眾一睹上世紀的粵味弦歌。
