客座教授──姜南順教授 (Prof. Namsoon Kang)

自我介紹

在自我介紹中，我們究竟可以——又應該——如何述說「我是誰」？介紹自己從來都不是一件容易的事。人的存在既有外在面向，也有內在面向；然而，一般自我介紹往往只觸及外在層面，因而容易遮蔽一個人內在生命真正的深度。

自2006年起，我一直於美國德州基督教大學（Texas Christian University）布萊特神學院(Brite Divinity School) 擔任神學與宗教教授。在加入該院之前，我亦曾於韓國首爾監理教會神學大學校 ( Methodist Theological University, Seoul, South Korea)，以及英國劍橋大學神學院（Faculty of Divinity, University of Cambridge）任教。

最近，我於2026年5月4日加入香港中文大學崇基學院，在暑期學院的課程中教授一門名為 “Cosmopolitan Leadership: Justice and Hospitality in a World of Glocal Conflicts”的科目(全球—在地衝突中的世界公民式領導：公義與款待)。雖然我在此的任期將於2026年7月3日結束，但這也形成了一種弔詭：我正式「屬於」崇基學院，卻同時作為一位「六十天教授」，站在內與外、歸屬與過渡之間的門檻上。

我的研究與教學一向跨越學科界限，關注世界公民思想、德希達哲學、後殖民理論、女性主義與後現代理論等領域。這樣的理論架構亦與我的全球實踐緊密相連。多年來，我曾於六大洲、二十多個國家發表演講及主題演說，足跡遍及歐洲、拉丁美洲、東亞及太平洋地區。此外，我亦致力將這些洞見實踐於普世合一運動的國際領導工作之中，曾擔任世界神學院協會會議（WOCATI）主席，並參與世界基督教協進會（World Council of Churches）全球異象的建構。

在學術寫作以外，我亦是一位認真的業餘鋼琴愛好者；在德州沃思堡（Fort Worth）家中的一部小型三角鋼琴，是我最親密的生活夥伴之一。在這門關於 “Cosmopolitan Leadership”的全球暑期課程中，我特別享受與來自世界各地、超過二十位學生一同交流的時光——這是一段深刻的經驗，也不斷提醒我：教學在本質上，始終是一種學習。

歸根究底，無論是在德州的課堂、香港的門檻上，還是在世界各地的普世對話中，我的工作始終致力於承擔一種雙重責任：一方面肯定我們所承繼的傳統，另一方面也勇敢地質疑這些傳統。

Self-Introduction

What can—and what may-- I say about "who I am" in a self-introduction? Introducing oneself is always a daunting task. Because human existence comprises both exteriority and interiority, it is customary to introduce only our external dimensions, which often obscures the true depth of one's interiority.

Since 2006, I have served as a professor of Theology and Religion at Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University. Before I joined Brite, I also taught at Methodist Theological University in South Korea, and the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge in the UK.

Most recently, on May 4, 2026, I joined Chung Chi College at CUHK to teach a course titled “Cosmopolitan Leadership: Justice and Hospitality in a World of Glocal Conflicts” for the Global Summer Institute. Though my time here concludes on July 3, 2026, creating a paradox where I officially “belong” to Chung Chi College, yet concurrently stand on the threshold between insider and outsider as a “60-days-professor.”

Working and teaching transdisciplinarily, my scholarship traverses the boundaries of cosmopolitanism, Derridean philosophy, postcolonialism, feminism, and postmodernism. This theoretical framework is deeply intertwined with my global practice. My lectures and keynote addresses have taken me across six continents, spanning over two dozen countries from Europe and Latin America to East Asia and the Pacific. Furthermore, I have sought to ground these insights within international ecumenical leadership, notably serving as President of the World Conference of Associations of Theological Institutions (WOCATI) and contributing to the global vision of the World Council of Churches.

Beyond my academic writing, I am a serious amateur pianist, with a baby grand piano serving as my constant companion in my home in Fort Worth, Texas. In this Global Summer course on Cosmopolitan Leadership, I have deeply enjoyed engaging with over twenty students from various countries around the world--a profound experience that continuously reminds me that teaching is always, at its core, a form of learning.

Ultimately, whether in the lecture halls of Texas, the thresholds of Hong Kong, or in ecumenical dialogues worldwide, my work remains dedicated to the double responsibility of affirming our inherited traditions while courageously contesting them.

關瑞文教授榮休：約130名校友、師生、友好齊聚神樓大廳歡送

一群曾受教於關教授的校友發起「走先喇係咁先喇——關氏榮休大派對」於4月30日晚假神樓大廳舉行，不同年代校友、學生、教職員和友好專程現身聚會，與「關公」瑞文教授一同度過充滿溫情的晚上。

橫跨不同年代的門生故友難得聚首，彼此問候近況，並透過連串精心安排的環節，向關教授表達感謝與祝福。整個榮休派對展現出關教授28年來潤物無聲，與學生及校友之間建立的情誼。

當晚節目豐富，既有錄影敘述關教授六十多年的人生軌跡，回顧教學與服侍足跡；也設有問答比賽，讓參加者搶答，爭奪關教授的「遺」下來之物件，包括頸枕、Note Book等私人物品，期間笑聲不斷；更向關教授發出各式各樣尖銳靈魂拷問，都被他一一機智化解；到了尾聲，他更獻唱其愛曲“You Raise Me Up”，為聚會再掀高潮。

主辦的校友團隊特意準備了大型佈景板，供參加者拍照，增添喜慶；同時也準備了紀念品「掛住你西門盲盒」，於榮休派對當晚現場派發，讓參加者把這份心意帶回家中珍藏。這場送別，也是重聚，校友們回顧昔日點滴的同時，大家也紛紛向關教授送上誠摯謝意，並拍照留念。祝願他榮休生活精彩充實，繼續在人生新階段活出豐盛與喜樂。

另，崇基學院及教職員聯誼會於2026年5月6日假香港沙田萬怡酒店合辦「五月餐舞會」（May Ball），向榮休教職員致以衷心敬意，關瑞文教授亦為其中之一。當晚，本院院長葉菁華教授、副院長白德培教授（Prof. Tobias Brandner）、任卓賢教授、溫誠敦教授（Prof. Bruce Worthington）以及客座教授姜南順教授（Prof. Namsoon Kang）一同出席，與崇基教職員歡聚一堂，共敘情誼。席間多位教授高歌獻唱，向關教授送上誠摯祝福。關教授亦大展歌喉，並於簡短分享中感謝崇基學院仝人多年來的支持。整晚氣氛溫馨而歡愉，令人難忘。

本地交流團｜跨文化、跨信仰的香港學習之旅 🌏🤝⛪🕌🙏✨

韓國交流團結束後，本地學習交流團 THEO 5965 Hong Kong Study Tour: Christians and People of Other Faith in the Global City 隨即展開，於 5月26日至6月4日 進行一連九天的參觀和交流活動。 📅🗺️

是次交流團由副院長白德培教授 👨‍🏫 帶領，參加者包括 Global SITIS 課程中來自菲律賓、緬甸、印度等亞洲國家的學員、耶魯大學神學院學生 🎓，以及本院同學，一同展開跨文化學習與交流。 🌐👥

期間，師生透過講座 🎤、實地參訪 🏛️ 及交流活動 💬，深入認識香港作為多元宗教城市的面貌 🏙️，並了解宗教與社會之間的互動。行程涵蓋多個宗教及社區場所，包括 聖約翰座堂外傭事工 ⛪、道風山基督教叢林 🌲✝️、嗇色園黃大仙祠 🏮、法性講堂 🕉️、聖馬可及聖多馬科普特正教會 ✝️、錫克教廟 🕌，以及不同宗派的基督教會。 🙌

此外，交流團亦走訪重慶大廈難民中心 🏢、石屋家園 🏠 及社區組織協會的基層住屋項目 🏘️，從社會關懷 ❤️ 與社區文化角度，加深對香港不同社群處境的理解。課程同時設有多場專題講座 📚，促進跨文化及跨信仰的交流與反思 🤔，並探討香港基督教歷史 📖、宗教與社會 🌍，以及華人基督教神學等議題。 ✨

Local Study Tour | A Cross-cultural and Interfaith Learning Journey in Hong Kong 🌏🤝⛪🕌🙏✨

Following the conclusion of the Korea study tour, the local study tour THEO 5965 Hong Kong Study Tour: Christians and People of Other Faith in the Global City took place from 26 May to 4 June 📅🗺️, featuring a nine-day programme of visits and exchange activities.

Led by Prof. Tobias Brandner 👨‍🏫, Associate Director, the tour brought together 31 participants 👥 from the Global SITIS programme from Asian countries including the Philippines 🇵🇭, Myanmar 🇲🇲, and India 🇮🇳, as well as students from Yale Divinity School 🎓 and our own students, for a cross-cultural learning experience 🌐.

Through lectures 🎤, site visits 🏛️, and exchange activities 💬, participants gained a deeper understanding of Hong Kong 🏙️ as a multi-religious city and of the interaction between religion and society 🌍. The itinerary included visits to a range of religious and community sites, such as the migrant domestic worker ministry at St. John’s Cathedral ⛪, Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre 🌲✝️, S*k S*k Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple 🏮, Dharma Nature Preaching Hall 🕉️, St. Mark and St. Thomas Coptic Orthodox Church ✝️, and the S*kh temple 🕌, as well as churches from different Christian traditions 🙌.

The tour also explored dimensions of social concern ❤️ and community culture 🏘️ through visits to the refugee centre at Chungking Mansions 🏢, the Stone Houses Cafe 🏠, and a grassroots housing project organised by the Society for Community Organization 🏘️. A number of thematic lectures 📚 further enriched the programme, encouraging cross-cultural and interfaith reflection 🤔 while engaging topics such as the history of Christianity in Hong Kong 📖, religion and society 🌍, and Chinese Christian theology ✨.

第三屆 Global SITIS（2026）正式展開！🌍✨

本院於 5 月 26 日舉行 Global Summer Institute of Theology and Intercultural Studies 2026（Global SITIS 2026）開幕禮。來自菲律賓、緬甸、印度等亞洲國家的學員、耶魯神學院學生及本院同學齊聚一堂，展開今屆暑期課程的跨文化學習與交流。🤝📚

開幕禮由本院助理教授及學術交流委員會主席王珏教授 主持。葉菁華院長致歡迎辭，盼望參加者在交流中深化、拓闊，甚至更新自己的神學視野。本院訪問教授、布萊特神學院 (Brite Divinity School)神學與宗教學教授姜南順教授亦於開幕禮上致辭，分享其跨文化生命經歷，鼓勵學生珍惜與不同背景人士交流的機會，積極投入課程，並記錄學習中的觀察與反思。📝🌏姜教授亦於Global SITIS 課程中任教“Cosmopolitan Leadership” 一科。

最後，開幕禮由本院校牧姚志豪牧師帶領祈禱作結。參加者隨後前往神學樓，由本院外務副院長白德培教授介紹接下來九天的本地交流團安排，為今屆課程揭開序幕。🙏


The Third Global SITIS (2026) has officially begun! 🌍✨

On 26 May, our School held the opening ceremony of the Global Summer Institute of Theology and Intercultural Studies 2026 (Global SITIS 2026). Participants from Asian countries including the Philippines, Myanmar, and India, together with students from Yale Divinity School and our own students, gathered to begin this year’s summer programme of intercultural learning and exchange. 🤝📚

The ceremony was moderated by Prof. Sonia Wong, Chairperson of the Academic Exchange Committee of our School. Director Prof. Francis Yip delivered the welcome address, expressing his hope that through exchange, participants’ theological horizons would be deepened, broadened, and even transformed.

Prof. Namsoon Kang, Visiting Professor of DSCCC, Professor of Theology and Religion at Brite Divinity School, also addressed the participants, sharing her intercultural life experience and encouraging students to treasure encounters with people from different backgrounds, participate actively in the programme, and record their observations and reflections along the way. 📝🌏 Prof. Kang also taught the course “Cosmopolitan Leadership” in the Global SITIS programme.

The opening ceremony concluded with a prayer led by Rev. Yiu Chi Ho, Chaplain of the School. Participants then proceeded to the Theology Building, where Prof. Tobias Brandner, Professor and Associate Director of the School, introduced the arrangements for the 9-days local study tour, marking the beginning of this meaningful journey. 🙏

🇰🇷 韓國交流團｜圓滿舉行（5月11至19日）🌏✈️

本院韓國交流團已於5月19日圓滿結束，下半段行程走訪不同的基督教團體、教會、邊境和平學校及所望教導所，讓同學在實地體驗中反思信仰與社會的關係。📖⛪️🌍

📍5月15日及18日| Bargn Nuri Insu 及洪川社區🌿🏡
Bargn Nuri（밝은누리，意為「光明世界」）是選擇以共享生活、回歸自然方式活出信仰的基督徒群體。同學分別探訪他們在首爾近郊的Insu社區及江原道洪川郡的共享社區，了解韓國基督徒群體的多樣性，體驗他們的簡樸生活，並與創辦人、不同事工負責人及學生彼此分享交流。🙌🌿

📍5月16日 | 邊境和平學校：和平朝聖之旅 🧭🕊️
週六交流團前往位於鐵原的非軍事區（DMZ），由邊境和平學校安排了一天的「和平朝聖之旅」。同學先後參觀為北韓入侵而挖鑿的第二隧道、鐵原勞動黨舍，並登上蘇伊山（Soisan Mountain）遠眺北韓，為兩韓和平與受苦者默禱，同時也認識由該校推展的和平事工與實踐。

📍 5月17日 | 教會探訪：汝矣島純福音教會, Seoul Diaspora Church, 香鄰教會 💒🎶
應汝矣島純福音教會邀請，交流團早上參與了9時的主日崇拜。之後分為兩組，分別參與兩間特色教會的主日崇拜並與牧者同工交流：主要服事海外勞工的Seoul Diaspora Church，以及由民眾神學創辦人安炳茂牧師創立的香鄰教會（향린교회），亦是唯一以韓國傳統音樂進行崇拜的教會，同學得以親身體會韓國教會的多元面貌。

📍 5月19日 | 監獄探訪 🛠️☕️
交流團探訪由韓國基督教監獄宣教財團（Agape Foundation）創立、韓國唯一的民營監獄——所望教導所（소망교도소）。教導所所長介紹如何以基督信仰更新及轉化囚友，並帶領同學參觀水耕農場、木工及金工工場、烘焙工房、髮型屋、咖啡店等設施，展示如何在信仰實踐中幫助囚友學習新技能，重建人生並重投社會。

白德培牧師亦應Bargn Nuri及所望教導所邀請，分別分享他的信仰經歷及30年的監獄事奉、香港的監獄事工。

🇰🇷 Korea Study Tour | Successfully Held (11–19 May 2026) 🌏✈️

Our Korea Study Tour concluded on May 19. The second half of the programme led students to visit various Christian communities, churches, the Border Peace School, and Somang Correctional Institution, reflecting on the relationship between faith and society. 📖⛪️🌍

📍May 15 & 18 | Bargn Nuri Insu & Hongcheon Community 🌿🏡
Bargn Nuri (밝은누리, “World of Light”) is a Christian community that lives out faith through shared life and returning to nature. Students visited their shared communities in Insu, near Seoul, and in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, exploring the diversity of Christian communities in Korea, experiencing their simple lifestyle, and exchanging reflections with the founder, leaders, and students. 🙌🌿

📍May 16 | Border Peace School
On Saturday, the group travelled to the DMZ in Cheorwon, where the Border Peace School led a one‑day “peace pilgrimage”. Students visited the Second Tunnel dug by North Korea, the Cheorwon Workers’ Party building, and climbed Soisan Mountain to look toward North Korea, praying for peace on the Korean peninsula. They also learned about the school’s peace ministries and practical witness.

📍May 17 | Church Visits: Yoido Full Gospel Church, Seoul Diaspora Church, Hyangrin Church 💒🎶
By invitation from Yoido Full Gospel Church, the group attended the 9:00 am worship service on Sunday morning. They then split into two groups to join the services of two distinctive churches and meet with pastors and staff: Seoul Diaspora Church, which mainly serves migrant workers; and Hyangrin Church (향린교회), founded by Rev. Ahn Byung Mu, a pioneer of Minjung theology, and the only church using traditional Korean music in worship. Students experienced the rich diversity of Korean Christianity in person.

📍May 19 | Prison Visit 🛠️☕️
The group visited Somang Correctional Institution (소망교도소), the only privately run prison in Korea, founded by the Christian Prison Ministry Mission (Agape Foundation). The warden explained how Christian faith is used to renew and transform inmates, and led students through facilities such as hydroponic farms, carpentry and metalworking workshops, a bakery, a hair salon, and a café, demonstrating how prisoners learn new skills, rebuild their lives, and prepare to rejoin society through faith based ministry.

Rev. Prof. Tobias Brandner was also invited by Bargn Nuri and Somang Correctional Institution to share his faith journey and his 30 years of prison ministry in Hong Kong, as well as the prison ministry landscape in Hong Kong.

Thanks to all the churches and ministries that warmly welcomed and hosted us. 🙏💌
