歷經了多次革新演變，身處於這個資訊爆破的新時代，只要有一機在手，人人都可以是「攝影師」—— 甚至無需親臨其景，只消在鍵盤敲打幾個指令，即可生成真偽難辨的精細圖像。影像創作的界限，將會被拓展至哪個未知景地？歷史又是否將重覆上演，如同當年攝影技術的面世亦曾為傳統藝術界帶來翻天覆地的改變？第一回 “Photography Salon” 邀請了本地資深攝影藝術家及教育家，人稱「馮Sir」的馮漢紀先生，將透過歷史的循環不斷，闡述當代攝影的藝術實踐從類比(analogue)到數碼(digital)、再到人工智能圖像生成(Generative AI image)帶來的種種視覺革命。

馮漢紀 Joseph Fung
資深攝影藝術家及教育家，香港大學SPACE客座講師，香港攝影文化協會顧問。前香港理工大學設計學院副教授兼攝影系主任。曾任2007廣州國際攝影雙年展策展人、香港當代藝術雙年展評委，亦為香港美術博物館、香港文化博物館、香港藝術發展局及美國《光圈》雜誌顧問。作品在中國及香港以外，曾於美國各州、加拿大、芬蘭、蘇格蘭、丹麥、日本及荷蘭等地展出，亦獲香港文化博物館、中國廣東美術館及海外國際機構所收藏。

【人工智能對紀實攝影的影響 | AI’s Impact on Documentary Photography 】

過去數年，人工智能（Artificial intelligence） 技術發展速度神速， AI 圖像生成科技照片幾可亂真。在這種科技大趨勢之下，強調影像真實性的紀實攝影（documentary photography）將面臨怎樣的衝撃和挑戰？是次講座邀請了曾任攝影記者多年，現職大學新聞系講師曾梓洋，與大家探討AI對傳媒行業、道德和現實世界的影響。

In the past few years, AI (Artificial intelligence) technology has developed rapidly. The line between real photographs and AI-generated images became blurred. As a medium that emphasizes authenticity, what challenges does it bring to documentary photography? We invited Eric Tsang, a former photojournalist and a current university lecturer in journalism and communication, to discuss the impacts of AI on the media industry, the real world, and the ethical issues it may bring.

講者簡介 | About the Speaker

曾梓洋，畢業於香港中文大學新聞與傳播學院，曾於不同新聞媒體任職攝影記者及主理影像製作，得多個本地及國際新聞攝影獎，包括World Press Photo Witness、Lumix Festival for Young Visual Journalism及人權新聞獎，攝影作品曾刊於多間本地及國際媒體，並於香港、紐約及柏林展出。
後於香港中文大學藝術系修畢藝術碩士課程，嘗試將新聞及藝術融合，關注社會議題，同時反思傳統敍事框架，回應媒體在數碼轉型中的挑戰。作品曾於多間畫廊及國際藝術展覽等展出。現任職香港中文大學新聞與傳播學院講師。

Eric Tsang Tsz Yeung is a lecturer at the School of Journalism and Communication of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was a photojournalist and production manager at different Hong Kong local media companies. His work won multiple local and international journalistic awards including World Press Photo Witness, Lumix Festival for Young Visual Journalism, New York Telly Awards and Human Rights Press Awards. His works were seen at various local and international media, also at galleries in Hong Kong, New York and Berlin.
After completing a Master's degree in Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he attempts to reflect on traditional narrative frameworks with art and respond to the challenges faced by media in the digital transformation. His works have been exhibited at Osage Gallery, 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, Affordable Art Fair, and other events. He currently works as a lecturer at the School of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

【新聞攝影：過去、現在與未來 | Photojournalism: Past, Present and Future】

新聞攝影被定義為「使用攝影媒介作為主要說故事手段的說故事的過程。 [...] 攝影記者將使用他們的相機捕捉故事的視覺表現」。 但是，這是甚麼意思？ 它是怎樣成為一門專業？ 新聞攝影的基本概念是甚麼？今天我們要如何理解它？ 在是次講座中，我們將討論這些問題、照片的倫理、代表性和多樣性問題，以及隨著人工智能生成圖像的興起而給行業帶來的新挑戰。

Photojournalism is defined as “the process of storytelling using the medium of photography as your main story telling device. [...] a photojournalist will use their camera to capture the visual representation of a story”. But what does that mean? How did it come about as a profession? What are the basic concepts of photojournalism and how have we come to understand it today? In this Talk we will address these issues, matters on photo ethics, representation and diversity, and new challenges of the industry as the rise of AI-generated imagery.

講者簡介 About the Speaker

Raphael Dias e Silva來自巴西，擁有國際安全背景，專注於解決衝突和以地區為本的和平建設方法。作為荷蘭阿姆斯特丹世界新聞攝影展的展覽經理和策展人，他管理全球 25 個城市的展覽項目，為廣泛的觀眾群組織年度和專題展覽。

Raphael Dias e Silva is an Exhibitions Manager and Curator at World Press Photo, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Originally from Brazil, he has a background in International Security with a focus on conflict resolution and local-based approaches to peacebuilding. At World Press Photo, he manages a portfolio of 25 global cities organising annual and thematic exhibitions for a wide array of audiences.

由相遇到傷癒，這幾年香港以至世界也在經歷不同的轉變。國際分化、社會撕裂、經濟衰退、新冠疫情、俄烏戰爭、移民潮…… 社會大眾面對以上情況無能為力，無力感充斥在我們身邊，而這些無力感也為我們帶來不同程度的創傷。面對這種處境，我們怎樣才能療癒這些內心的傷痕？
三位來自香港的攝影師透過不同切入點，利用攝影的藝術表達療癒自身，療癒大眾。由當初適應各式各樣的轉變，到現在的隨心影像，今次展覽將會帶領各位感受藝術家的內心世界，鼓勵大眾在面對困難時，勇敢透過攝影表達內心的鬱結，排解創傷，互相療癒。

From encounter to healing. For the past few years, Hong Kong and the world have experienced so many changes. From global polarisation, social differentiation, and economic recession; to the pandemic, Russo-Ukrainian War, and emigration wave. We find ourselves powerless in the face of these situations, and a deep sense of helplessness surrounds us. These feelings of powerlessness also bring varying degrees of trauma. How can we heal these inner wounds amidst this challenging era?
Three Hong Kong photographers, each with their unique perspectives, employ the medium of photography as an art expression and share their healing journeys with the public. Their process begins with adapting to various changes, and then to making spontaneous images. Allowing the audience to enter their artistic world and inviting them to see from the photographers’ perspectives. This exhibition aims to encourage the public to express their deepest emotions using the photographic medium. To heal from trauma, and photograph to heal.

【影像策展人培訓計劃 Curatorship Incubation Programme for Len-based Arts】

影像策展人作為展覽的策劃者和組織者，以及藝術領域的研究者和觀點的倡議者，對影像藝術的可能性、複雜性和獨特性的研究，影像對觀念、文化以及藝術想像的承載與影響的探討，有著至關重要的作用。

本地專業的策展人才短缺，尤其是影像策展人，故此光影作坊籌劃以策展人主導的培訓計劃，為期一年，以扶持對影像創造力及探討當下攝影與影像藝術的可能性為核心的年輕一代，致力發掘及培育有志於研究攝影／影像的新一代策展人，除給予展覽所需之資金補助外，並結合光影作坊的專業資源、全面且深度的指導，為他們提供實現本地和海外的展覽之機會，奠定影像策展發展的基礎。

課程內容簡介︰
1. 與攝影／影像理論、本地攝影發展及當代藝術研究、與展覽歷史、設計與空間營造相關的概念知識；
2. 提案撰寫、項目管理、作品裝裱、展覽文宣、參展藝術家的挑選與溝通等方面的專業知識與實踐技能；
3. 每位學員將提交一份展覽提案；\導師亦會就提案進行兩次額外的一對一導修，進行評核和提供反饋；
4. 在導師的指導下，學員根據提案的具體實施步驟與時間規劃，進行有序的策展實施。每個提案將得到港幣$20,000資金補助，並必須於2024年5至6月內在光影作坊或其他場地伙伴以展覽形式實現，而展期為兩至四星期。

課程日期：2023年10月至2024年4月

課程對象：
1. 攝影或影像藝術的愛好者；
2. 有志於攝影或影像策展／研究或對策展實踐有濃厚興趣；

4. 具備良好中、英文能力。
