誠邀中大文學院同學參加「2026 夏日創作比賽」，分享你在這個暑假的難忘片段，並有機會贏取豐富獎品。

有別於以往，今年比賽的作品形式不再局限於短片拍攝。同學可自由選擇以下形式，創作具個人風格的作品：

中大文學院與浙江大學人文學部日前正式簽署合作備忘錄，攜手開啟人文學術交流新篇章！

Key initiatives are already underway, including a ✨𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲, with the first cohort of ZJU students visiting CUHK this summer, and a ✨𝗯𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, planned for 2027–28 at CUHK campus.

Through student exchange and academic collaborations, both institutions aim to strengthen cross-cultural learning and advance humanities scholarship together.

🌐The Faculty held its Student Conference “Humanities in the Digital Age” on 11 May. Students shared work from four new undergraduate courses developed under the UGC funded FITE programme, “𝘊𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴: 𝘍𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘮.”

Covering topics from digital approaches to Renaissance history and philosophy to AI‑driven language analysis and contemporary art practice, the presentations highlighted how students are applying digital and computational tools across the humanities.

The conference offered a valuable platform for students and instructors to exchange ideas and learn from one another, highlighting the expanding role of digital humanities in our undergraduate education.

🌟【𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁】𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

Ma Donna Solis Rebong is a dedicated PhD History candidate who perfectly exemplifies our commitment to nurturing socially conscious scholars. Since joining CUHK in 2022, Donna has balanced rigorous doctoral research with extensive volunteer work across various Filipino organisations. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to society, she was awarded the 2025 CUHK Outstanding Student Award (Social Service (Serving the Society)).

Donna’s leadership is multifaceted. She has served as an emcee, translator, and facilitator for various organisations such as Migrante-HK, the Filipino Migrant Workers Union (FMWU), and the Mission for Migrant Workers (MFMW). Whether hosting the 42nd Cordillera Day at Chater Road or facilitating democratic union elections, Donna works passionately to amplify the voices of marginalised communities.

Her commitment is deeply rooted in her academic life. Through the Philippine Studies Interdisciplinary Reading Group, supported by our Research Institute for the Humanities (RIH), Donna links academic discourse with real-world advocacy. She believes that bridging the academe and marginalised communities is essential for advocating for humane working conditions and decent wages.

The Faculty extend its sincere appreciation to Donna for her continued dedication to the wellbeing and human rights of the Filipino community. Her ability to bridge the gap between the academe and society reflects the very best of our Faculty’s values.

👏🏻The 2nd Interdisciplinary Taught Postgraduate Student Conference on Arts and Humanities was successfully held in April. Professor Max Tang, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Professor Benny Lim, Director of the MA in Cultural Management Programme, attended the opening ceremony and warmly welcomed all participants.

Under the theme “𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗿𝗮,” taught postgraduate students and faculty came together for a full day of paper presentations, poster sessions, and inspiring conversations across disciplines.

From thought-provoking research sharing to relaxed chats during breaks and dinner, the conference was a great mix of academic exchange and peer connection. We look forward to seeing these interdisciplinary exchanges continue to grow within our taught postgraduate community, and to welcoming even more students next year.🙌🏻

Larry Tse Cheuk-hin (MPhil in Cultural Studies, Year 1) views the world as his stage, excels both in the arena of competitive dance and through rigorous academic inquiry. A dancesport athlete of 19 years, Larry has a distinguished record of representing Hong Kong, including the 2nd National Youth Games in Shanxi (2019). Most recently, he achieved international success with a third-place finish at the 2025 WDSF Adult Latin Open in Taipei and a second-place finish at the Rising Star Adult Latin in Tokyo.

Larry’s journey is marked by a strong commitment to his passion. After completing his undergraduate studies at CUHK in 2022, he declined a corporate career to pursue life as a full-time athlete. He later returned to his alma mater to undertake an MPhil in Cultural Studies in the Faculty of Arts. His thesis examines the cultural practices of dancesport in Hong Kong, bridging his professional experience with scholarly research.

A recipient of the SF & OC Incentive Awards, CUHK Golden Jubilee A Better Tomorrow Scholarship, the 2025 Outstanding Student Award (Sports), Talent Development Awards from the HKSAR Government, and multiple scholar awards, Larry is grateful for the holistic support at CUHK that advances his studies and helps him realise his potential. With the support of research grants, he presented his research at the Dance Studies Conference in Washington, D.C last summer. He also extends his appreciation to the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies for fostering a caring and supportive academic environment.

The Faculty remains committed to supporting our students’ all-round development as they strive for greater heights. We celebrate Larry’s outstanding achievements as a powerful example of how athletic discipline and scholarly engagement can flourish together with purpose and impact.

「夜機」升空起初漫天雲靄，再到達無垠夜空，彷彿對照畢業生一開始也是抱着極大的勇氣，潛進這深不可測的藝術世界。從機艙往外凝望，長久的黑夜或許會讓人感到迷失；然而時而略過的繁華都市，時而閃過的茫茫星光，總能夠在這趟藝術探索之旅中，指引着一些深刻的方向。乘客儘管難以準確預測到達的時分，但相信只要懷着最真摯的熱誠和期盼，最終定能衝破黎明的薄霧，降落在被晨曦照亮的遠方。

2026年中大藝術系本科畢業作品展以「夜機」為題。在夜霧紛擾的背景下，三十二位畢業生仍義無反顧地登上這班深夜航班，獨自啟程駛向未知的世界。縱使深知這次遠行並非易事，每個人皆會在途中遇見屬於自己的困境和得着；但願我們還能夠一直堅定意志，勇敢邁向理想的目的地。在經歷一切後，讓我們約定在下個燦爛的天亮，回歸到這起點，從容地與彼此訴說這段非凡的旅程。

Across the mist the late-night flight glides, firmly soaring into the boundless night sky, just like how we delved into this unfathomable world of art with the courage with which we bet our life. As we gaze through the cabin window, endless darkness may leave us adrift. Yet the occasional glimpses of bustling cities, as well as the starlight that shines through the sky, would guide us through our voyage in art with vivid directions. This is a journey with no precise estimated time of arrival, yet we trust that with our most sincere passion and anticipation, our flight will ultimately cleave the mist as the dawn breaks, landing us on destinations with new horizons illuminated by the rising sun.

The B.A. The Graduation Exhibition of The Art of CUHK 2026 is titled “Glide Across the Mist”. Shrouded in mist notwithstanding, the thirty-two graduates resolutely boarded this late-night flight, embarking on a journey towards the world beyond by themselves.Though we know this journey will be arduous, we know we will be encountering trials and takeaways unique to each of us along the way. We hope to remain steadfast in our resolutions, advancing towards our destinations in mind with courage. After all that we have endured, let us pledge to return to this starting point and the next glorious dawn, and recount to one another with ease and pride the remarkable odyssey that testifies to our growth.
