🎉【 Celebrating Prof. Li Shaofeng’s Distinguished Scholar Award! 】🌟

Prof. Li has been honoured with the Distinguished Scholar Award by the International Association for the Psychology of Language Learning (IAPLL) at its biennial conference, held from 20 to 24 May 2026 at Shantou University. This prestigious award recognises individuals making world-class waves in the psychology of language learning.

During the conference, Prof. Li also took centre stage to deliver an insightful plenary speech on & , lead a masterclass workshop on -analysis, and represent the Research Methods in Applied Linguistics journal at the editors' forum.

We are incredibly proud to have Prof. Li representing PolyU and pushing the boundaries of global linguistic research. 👏

【A Night to Remember: ENGL & DEAA Joint Reunion Dinner 2026 🥳】

On the evening of 6 March 2026, alumni from various years joined our academic staff and current students for a pleasant dinner. 🥄🍴With approximately 80 participants, the event created meaningful and memorable moments for everyone to connect and engage with one another.

A special feature of the evening was the presentation of the 2025 Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Department of English and Communication. Two of the awardees, Dr Frederick Cheung and Dr Christina Leung, shared their inspiring stories and professional experiences upon receiving their awards. 💫 🌟

Our special thanks to Ms Zelia Wong, the Outstanding Young Alumni Awardee of PolyU Faculty of Humanities 2025, for the feature talk on her journey from a language graduate to a professional MC.💡

That was a joyful evening to remember! 🤗 The reunion dinner was filled with great food, warm conversations, and plenty of laughter. 😁 It was especially wonderful to see alumni from different generations coming together, rekindling old friendships, and creating new memories. 🤝

We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the 4th PolyU Undergraduate Conference on Applied Linguistics and Language Studies (PolyU-CALLS), held on 28 March. The event served as a vibrant platform for academic exchange, fostering innovation among the next generation of language scholars. 🎓

Conference Highlights:
• Global Participation: Welcomed approximately 120 attendees from the PolyU Faculty of Humanities, local institutions, and international peers from Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, and Russia. 🌏
