【理大首度承辦「三創賽」香港選拔賽！匯聚青年創科力量🚀】

「第十六屆全國大學生電子商務『創新、創意及創業』挑戰賽」（三創賽）首次落戶香港！理大為本港唯一承辦首屆香港特別行政區選拔賽的大學，已於6月12日圓滿舉行賽事頒獎典禮。🏆

作為國內規模最大、影響力最廣的大學生電子商務創新創業比賽之一，本屆賽事反應熱烈，吸引了來自港澳、中國內地及海外共32所高校的跨地域、跨院校、跨學科團隊參與。12支精英隊伍經過一輪競逐，最終奪取了四個一等獎、七個二等獎及一個最佳創業獎項。得獎隊伍更有望代表香港，晉身全國總決賽！

【PolyU hosts inaugural HKSAR “3Chuang Competition” Contest, unleashing the power of youth innovation 🚀】

The 16th National E-commerce “Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” Competition for College Students - “3Chuang Competition” - has landed in Hong Kong for the first time! As the sole organising university for the inaugural HKSAR Contest, PolyU successfully hosted the the event and Award Presentation Ceremony on 12 June. 🏆

As one of the largest and most influential e-commerce innovation and entrepreneurship competitions for tertiary students in the nation, this year’s event attracted enthusiastic participation from cross-region, cross-institution, and cross-disciplinary teams representing 32 higher education institutions in Hong Kong, Macao, the Chinese Mainland, and other overseas countries. A total of 12 outstanding teams received prestigious accolades, including four First Prizes, seven Second Prizes, and one Best Entrepreneurship Award. The winning teams will also have the opportunity to advance to the National Finals!

PolyU is committed to driving the translation of research outcomes into societal impact and benefit. 【理大與新加坡國立大學簽署合作備忘錄｜推動 AI 賦能的醫療創新】

香港理工大學（理大）宣佈與新加坡國立大學（NUS）正式簽署合作備忘錄（MoU），以加速醫療創新方案的落地與應用。

膝關節炎是一種有機會損害長者身心功能和生活質素的慢性退化性疾病。為應對膝關節炎，理大生物醫學工程系副教授溫春毅教授帶領研究團隊，研發出創新的人工智能生物力學評估工具「膝關照」，可用於膝關節炎的早期識別與介入。此項技術榮獲2021年TechConnect 全球創新獎及2022年香港資訊及通訊科技獎。憑藉理大創新成果，溫教授及其團隊於香港政府的「創科生活基金」支持下，自2023年起展開全港首個社區性膝骨關節炎篩查，至今已服務超過1,800名長者，相關研究更於國際期刊發表結果(https://shorturl.at/3ImgA)。

是次合作備忘錄進一步鞏固雙方就人工智能工具「膝關照」在臨床實踐中的落地合作，並推動未來醫學跨域與學術研究的深度對接。這亦是新加坡國立大學（NUS）骨科學系首次引入源自香港、聚焦膝關節炎的 AI 技術與實踐經驗，期望在基層醫療層面推進骨科發展，並強化香港與東南亞地區的學術合作。

是次合作備忘錄由理大生物醫學工程學系副教授溫春毅教授與NUS楊潞齡醫學院骨科學系研究總監兼副教授杜韋熊教授簽署，並由理大協理副校長（知識轉移）董澄教授及NUS楊潞齡醫學院副院長（研究）符策賢教授見證。

簽署儀式後設有「膝關照」現場示範體驗，讓與會者親身感受系統功能。「膝關照」將於NUS推行應用，以惠及更多使用者。藉著結合理大與NUS的優勢，可望進一步提升社區層面的膝關節炎識別與管理，從而更早介入、優化轉介與分流過程，並減輕醫院服務的壓力。

【MoU Signing Ceremony between PolyU and NUS｜Advancing AI-enabled Healthcare Innovations】

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is pleased to announce the formalisation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National University of Singapore (NUS) to accelerate the adoption of healthcare innovations.

Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a chronic degenerative disease which can hamper the functioning and the quality of life of older adults. To address KOA, Prof. Chunyi WEN, Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering of PolyU, leads a research team that has developed an innovative AI-empowered biomechanical assessment tool, KneeVidScan to enable early identification and intervention of knee osteoarthritis. This technology has been recognised with TechConnect Global Innovation Award 2021 and Hong Kong ICT Award 2022. By leveraging PolyU’s innovation, Prof. Wen and his team launched the first community screening programme for knee osteoarthritis in Hong Kong in 2023 and have since served more than 1,800 older adults under the auspices of HKSAR Government’s Innovation and Technology Fund for Better Living. The related results were recently published in a prestigious scholarly journal from Nature Portfolio (https://shorturl.at/3ImgA).

This MoU strengthens our shared commitment to the implementation of the AI tool, KneeVidScan, in real-world clinical practice, and to future academic–clinical partnerships. This is the first time the NUS Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has introduced Hong Kong’s AI technology and expertise in knee osteoarthritis to Singapore, helping to advance precision orthopaedics in the primary healthcare setting. This will help strengthen academic collaboration between Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Chunyi WEN, Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering of PolyU, and Prof. Wei Seong TOH, Research Director and Associate Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of NUS, and witnessed by Prof. Cheng D**G, Associate Vice President (Knowledge Transfer) of PolyU, and Prof. Roger FOO, Vice-Dean (Research), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of NUS.

A live demonstration of KneeVidScan followed the signing ceremony, giving participants first-hand experience with the system. Going forward, KneeVidScan will be deployed at NUS to benefit more users. By leveraging the combined strengths of PolyU and NUS, the identification and management of knee osteoarthritis in community settings can be enhanced, enabling earlier intervention, streamlining care navigation and right-siting, and reducing downstream pressure on hospital services.

【理大國際未來挑戰賽2026正式啟動　推動創新創業】

#理大 正式啟動旗艦創新創業比賽 #理大國際未來挑戰賽2026。今屆賽事設有八大賽區，覆蓋香港及多個內地城市，現正招募本地及全球創新創業人才參加，把創新意念轉化為具實踐價值的創業項目，以回應各賽區所面對的實際社會挑戰。

【PolyU International Future Challenge 2026 to drive innovative ventures】

The Launch Ceremony of the PolyU International Future Challenge 2026 (PolyU IFC 2026), a flagship innovation and entrepreneurship competition of , was successfully held. With eight competition regions spanning Hong Kong and strategic Chinese Mainland cities, PolyU IFC 2026 invites local and global innovators and entrepreneurs to participate, converting their ideas into impactful ventures that address real-world challenges in these regions.

Prof. Jin-Guang TENG, PolyU President stated, “PolyU IFC reflects our deep commitment to driving innovation and nurturing top-quality talent for societal benefits. This year’s Challenge has been strategically aligned with the Nation’s 15th Five-Year Plan and focuses on the ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI)+’ initiative. Leveraging the robust network of PolyU Mainland Translational Research Institutes (MTRIs), it connects local and global innovators to regional industrial clusters, offering market opportunities across key industry domains spanning life sciences, advanced manufacturing, fintech, smart cities and aerospace.” He encouraged local and global talents to seize this invaluable opportunity to contribute to the social development of the competition regions while achieving personal growth.

理大總裁協會理事長楊凱山博士率領會員到訪國際數據中心Global Switch。活動由副理事長張德慶策劃，旨在讓會員了解伺服器冷卻技術的發展趨勢與香港數據中心的國際化佈局。感謝Global Switch香港董事總經理劉洋先生及其團隊熱情接待總裁協會，詳細介紹香港數據中心的戰略定位，包括可直連中國內地市場、電力擴展能力強，以支援人工智能、高性能運算與企業級算力等多元負載需求，讓總裁協會成員了解香港數據中心的優勢。

【Innovation & Technology Exchange⭐️ | CEO Club Visits to the International Data Centre Global Switch】

Dr Paul Yeung, President of PolyU CEO Club, led members on a visit to the International Data Centre Global Switch. The new initiative driven Mr Jeff cheung, by PolyU CEO Club vice-president, provided valuable insights into latest developments in server cooling technologies and Hong Kong’s pivotal role in the globalization of data centres. Thanks to Mr Eric LIU, Managing Director of Global Switch Hong Kong, and his team, the visit highlighted Hong Kong’s strategic role as a data centre hub, offering direct connectivity to Chinese Mainland and strong power scalability to support workloads such as AI, high-performance computing and enterprise-grade compute.

PolyU CEO Club will continue to focus technological innovation by strengthening research commercialisation and talent connections. Dr Paul said that CEO Club will organise diverse programmes to create more opportunities for innovative applications and investment. They will also deepen industry–academia collaboration to keep PolyU’s research closely aligned with market needs, unlocking new business opportunities together.

【理大支持新一屆總裁協會理事會就職　推動產學合作】

匯聚工商領袖的 #總裁協會 日前舉行「第十屆理事會就職典禮」， #理大 校長滕錦光教授、高級副校長（研究及創新）趙汝恒教授、副校長（知識轉移）鄭子劍教授、協理副校長（大學發展）羅璇博士及多個理大內地技術創新研究院院長等現身，見證協會新一屆理事會正式就職。

滕錦光教授致辭時表示，新一屆總裁協會的定位聚焦創科，與理大矢志成為創新型世界一流大學的方針相互契合。他期望能夠透過與協會的合作，加快將理大的學術科研轉化成為商品，應對嶄新時代的挑戰。

協會特意邀請一系列從事 #人工智能 及 #機械人 領域的 初創團隊，於典禮現場向協會會員展示理大的創新方案，讓一眾理大初創企業有機會與工商領袖交流溝通，同時為新一屆協會推動產學合作的工作揭開序幕。

Prof. Jin-Guang TENG, President of ; Prof. Christopher CHAO, Senior Vice President (Research and Innovation); Prof. Zijian ZHENG, Vice President (Knowledge Transfer); Dr Laura LO, Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement); and Directors of PolyU Mainland Translational Research Institutes, attended the Inauguration Ceremony of the 10th Executive Committee of the PolyU CEO Club. At the ceremony, they officiated the proceedings and demonstrated their strong support for the continued development of the Club.

Prof. Teng reaffirmed the Club’s mission of cultivating a sustainable innovation ecosystem, noting that its objectives closely align with PolyU’s aspiration to become an innovative world-class university. He expressed his anticipation of collaborating with the Club’s business leaders to accelerate the commercialisation of PolyU’s innovations.

The ceremony also featured a roadshow showcasing a number of AI and robotics projects from the community, representing an initial trial of a new industry-academia collaboration model promoted by the Club.

【理大助重點企業來港　賦能香港創科發展】

#引進重點企業辦公室 最新宣布新一批22家重點企業，當中包括早於去年與 #理大 簽訂合作備忘錄的法國軟件公司 #達索系統（Dassault Systèmes）。理大副校長（知識轉移）鄭子劍教授等特意出席引進辦的簽署儀式，見證達索系統正式落戶香港。

理大自2003年起與達索系統開展合作，並於去年成立亞太區首個「達索系統—理大卓越中心」，推動全球「AI + 材料」及「AI + 數字孿生」的創新發展，遂成為達索系統來港的契機。

鄭教授欣悉理大與業界的協作，最終促成重點企業引進香港。他期望與達索系統繼續連結香港與法國及全球的「AI + 製造」創新生態圈，同時尋求與更多重點企業展開合作，加深不同行業的產學研融合。

【PolyU facilitates strategic enterprises establishing operations in Hong Kong】

The Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises ( ) announced a new batch of strategic enterprises that are establishing or expanding their operations in Hong Kong, including French software company Dassault Systèmes, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding with last year. Prof. Zijian ZHENG, Vice President (Knowledge Transfer), attended the OASES ceremony, demonstrating PolyU’s strong support for Dassault Systèmes’ development in Hong Kong.

PolyU’s longstanding partnership with Dassault Systèmes dates back to 2003. The MoU signed last year marked the launch of the Dassault Systèmes–PolyU Center of Excellence, the first Dassault Systèmes Center of Excellence in the Asia‑Pacific region, which aims to foster innovation in “AI + materials” and “AI + digital twin”. The collaboration has laid a strong foundation for Dassault Systèmes’ expansion into Hong Kong.

Prof. Zheng expressed his delight that the collaboration has contributed to attracting strategic enterprises to the city. He also looked forward to continuing collaboration with Dassault Systèmes to connect the “AI + manufacturing” innovation ecosystems of Hong Kong and France, as well as exploring further partnerships with enterprises across different sectors to support the growth of Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem.
