【🔍Highlight | 𝐄𝐜𝐨 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫: 𝐇𝐊𝐔 & 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐮 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 🌿🦋 】
【🔍活動分享 | 生態探索之旅 : 香港大學 × 龍虎山郊野公園 🌿🦋 】
Last Saturday (28/3), HKU members joined the “𝐄𝐜𝐨 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫: 𝐇𝐊𝐔 & 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐮 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤”. Led by professional guides, the group explored the vital connection between urban life and nature, gaining insights into the biodiversity thriving all around them. 🌍🌿
The tour began on the HKU campus, where participants observed a variety of native wildlife that is commonly seen yet often overlooked. Highlights included Yellow‑crested Cockatoos 🦜, sparrows 🐦, vibrant Paris Peacock butterflies 🦋, and squirrels skillfully climbing among tree trunks 🐿️.
The group was also introduced to the campus’s well-known “Champion Tree” - the Sweet Gum 🌳 - as well as representative Banyan Trees, providing detailed explanations of their ecological functions and conservation value. Through this, participants gained a better understanding of the essential role urban trees play in maintaining ecological balance 💚, and fostered a deeper connection and sense of belonging to the campus environment.
The journey then continued to Lung Fu Shan Country Park🌲. From a distance, participants observed the Red‑billed Blue Magpies🐦, and learned how to distinguish bird species by their calls and flight patterns. The group was also fortunate to witness a butterfly emerging during eclosion🦋✨, as well as caterpillars feeding among the leaves 🐛, offering vivid insights into nature’s life cycles 🔄.
Many participants shared that the tour encouraged them to slow down and observe plants and animals they usually pass by with a fresh perspective 👀🌼. Blending discovery with education, the activity not only deepened their understanding of local ecology but also provided an enjoyable and meaningful nature-based learning experience 🌿📚.
上星期六(28/3)，港大成員參加了「生態探索之旅：香港大學 × 龍虎山郊野公園」，在專業導賞員的帶領下，穿梭港大校園與郊野之間，親身感受城市與自然交織而成的生態風景，深入認識身邊環境的生物多樣性 🌿。
旅程由港大校園出發，沿途參加者成功觀察到多種本地常見卻容易被忽略的野生動物，包括小葵花鳳頭鸚鵡 🦜、麻雀 🐦、色彩繽紛的巴黎翠鳳蝶 🦋，以及在樹幹間靈巧攀爬的赤腹松鼠🐿️。
導賞員亦特別介紹了校內著名的「冠軍樹」——楓香 🌳，以及具代表性的榕樹，講解它們的生態功能與保育價值，讓參加者了解市區樹木在維繫生態平衡中的重要角色 🌱，亦令參加者與校園環境建立更深的連結，並培養出一份歸屬感。
其後，隊伍繼續前往龍虎山郊野公園，展開深入的生態探索 🌲。大家遠眺觀察紅嘴藍鵲 🐦，並學習透過鳥類叫聲及飛行模式分辨不同品種。大家亦幸運地目睹初破蛹而出的幼蝶 🦋✨，以及正在葉間覓食的毛蟲 🐛，透過第一身觀察，加深對生命週期的理解 🔄。
不少參加者分享，透過這次導賞，他們學會放慢腳步🚶♀️，以全新的角度觀察平日匆匆走過的動植物 👀🌼。這次活動不僅提升了大家對本地生態的認識，也是一趟兼具趣味與教育意義的自然之旅 🌿📚。
