This video was filmed at Quyuan Fenghe (Breeze-Ruffled Lotus at Quyuan Garden), located on the western side of West Lake, in front of the Yue Fei Temple. During the Southern Song Dynasty, there was an official winery here, where workers used stream water from the Jinsha Jian to produce wine. 🍶💦 When the summer breeze blew, the intoxicating aroma of wine mingled with the refreshing fragrance of lotus from the nearby ponds, giving rise to its beautiful name.🪷 Many literati visited this spot to drink wine and write poems, leaving behind numerous renowned literary works📝.

The only slight regret is that this was not the most ideal time to see the lotus flowers in full bloom, leaving us something to look forward to. We shall return another day to fully appreciate the willows veiled in mist along the six bridges and the fragrance of lotus stretching for miles. 🍃

[😮‍💨😎Savoring Life 嘆人生 – Student Work from “Exploring Light and Shadow: Journey to Hangzhou Hengdian” Study Trip🎥]

When was the last time you truly cared for yourself? 🌿Join Ah Ling on a journey to the Lingyin Temple through this video, and rediscover the beauty of slowing down and reconnecting with yourself! 🫸🏻🫷🏻

As the saying goes, taking a break is essential for a longer journey. Nevertheless, Hong Kongers have been used to working overnight and having irregular diets.🫩📊 A tight schedule has occupied our lives, not to mention vacations. As a result, our team aims to promote the beauty of the Lingyin Temple and the discovery of our spiritual selves along the trip in Hangzhou through the theme of our film, Savoring Life.😮‍💨😎 The story is about Ah Ling, a graduate student who remains busy with work even while travelling. He gradually realizes the meaning of travelling until he visits the Lingyin Temple. ⛰️🧳

[🌃The Charm of Hefang Street – Student Work from “Exploring Light and Shadow: Journey to Hangzhou Hengdian” Study Trip🎥]

Check out this video created by our student participants and discover the charm of Hefang Street through their lens, a place where history and modernity collide in perfect harmony. ✨

The name "Hefang Street" is derived from "Qinghefang" from the Southern Song Dynasty. There are alleys in the city and lanes within the alleys. This area is also renowned for Hangzhou's "Five Hangs" (cosmetic powder, scissors✂️, fans🪭, to***co, and thread🪡).

Hefang Street under the modern night sky was filled with dazzling handicrafts. As we strolled along, the chirping of birds caught our attention and we spotted a nest of newborn swallows tucked above the signboard of a milk tea shop🐦‍⬛🪺. The shop owner said, “The swallows built their nest here about a month ago. Swallows only choose homes that are prosperous and safe🏡, and many customers have been attracted to our store because of them”.

Hefang Street truly offers new sights every couple of steps, and the closer you look, the more details you can discover👀. To capture this, we adopted a tourist's perspective for our video, using fragmented editing to recreate the street's unique and lively atmosphere.🌸
