城大聯招課程諮詢日已於5月16日圓滿舉行！人文社會科學院（人院）當日舉辦學院講座，由公共及國際事務學系何鴻澤教授主講，詳盡介紹人院轄下六大學系——中文及歷史學系、媒體與傳播學系、英文系、翻譯及語言學系、公共及國際事務學系，以及社會及行為科學系——的課程特色、學院的實習計劃及海外交流機會，展現人院融合理論與實踐的教學理念。當天人院各學系亦精心安排多項體驗活動，與師生交流分享及個人化課程諮詢等，讓同學更全面地了解人院的教學特色與氛圍。我們衷心感謝所有參加者撥冗出席，期待在城大校園與大家再度相聚！

【2026 CityUHK JUPAS Consultation Day Successfully Concluded】
The JUPAS Programme Consultation Day at CityUHK was successfully held on 16 May. CLASS organised a College seminar on the day, delivered by Professor Hung Chak Derrick HO from the Department of Public and International Affairs. He gave a detailed introduction to the distinctive features of programmes offered by the College’s six departments – Chinese and History, Media and Communication, English, Linguistics and Translation, Public and International Affairs, and Social and Behavioural Sciences – as well as the College’s internship schemes and overseas exchange opportunities, helping participants gain a better understanding of CLASS’s teaching philosophy, which integrates theory and practice.

On the day, each department also thoughtfully arranged a range of experiential activities, opportunities for interaction and sharing with staff and students, and personalised programme advice, enabling students to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the College’s teaching characteristics and learning environment. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all participants for taking the time to join us, and we look forward to welcoming you again on the CityUHK campus.

人院項目「Fashion to Reconnect: A Tale of Two Style Capitals」於 MARKies Awards Hong Kong 2026 榮獲「Best Idea – Sustainability Marketing」金獎，表彰學院與 Poem Communications 的合作，以及本院教授推動可持續發展方面的努力。

特別感謝項目統籌 Professor Esterina NERVINO 和項目顧問 Professor Dorian HO，以及所有參與的合作夥伴，恭喜大家獲得這項殊榮！

「Fashion to Reconnect」項目由人文社會科學院與意大利城邦藝術基金會合辦，並與意大利國家時裝商會、策展人 Tiziano Guardini 及 GuardiniCiuffreda Studio 合作推行。項目同時獲得意大利領事館的支持，以及香港特別行政區政府文創產業發展處的贊助。

人院與香港地球之友於5月15日成功舉辦 “Your ESG & Sustainability Career Starts Here @ CityUHK” 座談會，邀請來自可持續金融、企業 ESG 及研究領域的專家包括溫室氣體核算準則董事會成員張振宇教授、香港中華煤氣有限公司助理總經理—集團環境、社會及管治暨主任—集團知識管理辦公室黃俊璋先生，以及彭博亞太區金屬及礦業研究主管梁穎璋女士分享親身經驗，讓同學深入了解 ESG 與可持續發展行業的發展趨勢、職涯路向及相關專業技能。人院院長何達基教授亦於活動上致開幕辭。

CLASS and Friends of the Earth (HK) successfully hosted the "Your ESG & Sustainability Career Starts Here @ CityUHK" symposium on 15 May, bringing together experts from the fields of sustainable finance, corporate ESG and research. The event featured Professor Anthony CHEUNG, Independent Standards Board Member of the GHG Protocol; Mr Bien WONG, Assistant General Manager, Group ESG, The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited; and Ms Michelle LEUNG, Head of Asia Metals and Mining Sustainability, Bloomberg. Professor Alfred Tat-Kei HO, Dean of CLASS, delivered the opening speech. The symposium offered students valuable insights into industry trends, career pathways and the professional skills needed to thrive in ESG and sustainability.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Professor CHEUNG, Mr WONG and Ms LEUNG for their inspiring sharing, as well as to all participants for their enthusiastic support. 近日人院媒體與傳播系劉肖凡教授與社會及行為科學系 Professor Eray Arda AKARTUNA接受明報訪問，分享其最新研究發現。

劉肖凡教授專注研究如何結合大數據與人工智能技術，分析電信及網絡詐騙的作案手法與心理策略，並研發反詐工具與傳播方案，以提升公眾防詐意識及攔截詐騙活動的成效。

Professor Eray Arda Akartuna 則專注研究東南亞（尤其緬甸邊境地區）的高科技詐騙活動，運用人工智能(AI)大語言模型構(LLM)建全球首個動態詐騙網絡地圖，揭示詐騙集團、武裝組織與政府官員之間的複雜權力關係，為打擊跨國詐騙罪案提供嶄新視角。

【Ming Pao Features Latest Research by CLASS Professors】
Ming Pao recently interviewed Professor Xiaofan LIU from the Department of Media and Communication (COM), and Professor Eray Arda AKARTUNA from the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (SS), who shared their latest research findings.

Professor Liu's research focuses on harnessing big data and artificial intelligence to analyse the tactics and psychological strategies behind telephone and online scams. His work involves developing anti-scam tools and communication strategies aimed at raising public awareness and improving the detection and interception of fraudulent activities.

Professor Akartuna specialises in high-tech scam operations in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on the border regions of Myanmar. Using AI large language models (LLM), he has constructed the world's first dynamic scam network map, uncovering the complex web of power relations among scam syndicates, armed groups and government officials — offering a ground-breaking perspective on combating transnational fraud.

人文社會科學院於5月14日成功舉辦2026年夏季國際化項目學生行前簡介會暨文化意識工作坊。

活動先由學生發展處張小姐主持文化意識工作坊，為同學即將展開跨文化學習體驗作好準備。其後，人院副院長（協作及知識轉移）Professor Bert GEORGE 於簡介會上致歡迎辭，並強調參與海外活動及抱持負責任的態度進行交流的重要。活動亦涵蓋各項目的重要資訊與作業要求，並邀請去年曾參與的學生親身分享寶貴經驗。

參與同學藉此機會與同行組員互相認識，並積極參與問答環節，從歷屆學員的分享中汲取實用建議，為即將展開的海外學習之旅作好萬全準備。

CLASS successfully conducted the Pre-departure Briefing Session cm Workshop on Cultural Awareness on 14 May 2026 for students participating in the Summer 2026 internationalisation programmes.

The event commenced with an engaging Cultural Awareness Workshop delivered by Miss Terri CHEUNG from Student Development Services, preparing students for cross-cultural experiences.

In the briefing session, Professor Bert GEORGE, Associate Dean (Engagement and Knowledge Transfer), CLASS, delivered welcoming remarks and highlighted the importance of global engagement and responsible participation. The programme also covered essential information, assignment requirements, and featured valuable sharing from student representatives who joined the programmes last year.

Participating students also took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with their groupmates and actively engage in the Q&A session, gaining practical tips from previous participants to better prepare for their overseas learning journeys.

【Ming Pao Features Latest Research from CLASS Scholars】
Professor SHEN De-wei from the Department of Chinese and History (CAH) and Professor LIU Ning from the Department of Public and International Affairs (PIA) were recently featured in Ming Pao, where they shared insights from their latest research.

Professor Shen discussed how he re-examines the Chu Jinan Ancient City from the perspective of ordinary people, uncovering new historical details, and how he uses technology to bring archaeology closer to everyday life and enhance students’ learning experiences.

Professor Liu focuses on “Greater Bay Area Standards” and cross-regional governance, analysing how Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao coordinate in areas such as food safety and Cantonese cuisine standards through institutional innovation and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Her research sheds light on how the Greater Bay Area can develop into a high-quality living region and offers important implications for future policies on elderly care and public health.

【🔎人院學生參與 ICAC Operation 303】
人院社會及行為科學系（SS）學生於2026年2月5日參與 ICAC Operation 303 互動體驗活動，親身感受廉署調查工作的實際運作。

在廉署人員帶領下，參加者模擬調查一宗建築工程貪污案件，體驗由蒐證、臉部識別，到拘捕程序及證人錄取口供等調查環節。活動結束後，廉署代表亦向表現出色的參加者頒發嘉許證書。

參加者表示，活動啟發性十足，讓他們對廉潔、反貪工作及倫理決策有更深認識。

【🔎CLASS students join ICAC Operation 303】
On 5 February 2026, students from the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (SS) of CLASS participated in ICAC Operation 303, an interactive simulation of ICAC investigators' work.

Guided by ICAC officers, participants investigated a mock corruption case in a construction project, experiencing key stages of the process from evidence collection and facial recognition to arrest procedures and witness interviews. At the end of the programme, ICAC representatives presented certificates of commendation to outstanding participants.

Participants said the activity was eye-opening and deepened their understanding of integrity, anti-corruption work and ethical decision-making.
