【News Sharing by NowTV - Prof. YANG Yong】
Upon the recent announcement about the recruitment of astronaut candidates for the China Manned Space Program in Hong Kong, our BEng Aerospace Engineering major leader - Prof. YANG Yong has been invited by NowTV to share his view on this exciting news.

Prof. YANG stated: 'One of the primary duties of a Payload Specialist is to perform science experiments on board the space station. Hong Kong has its competitive advantages. We have been nurturing competent researchers in various areas spanning from chemistry, physics and biology. And many of them will be a good fit for the job. Nowadays, we need different people with different expertise on board for scientific discoveries - not only limited to people with military backgrounds. Therefore, youngsters shall not be too concerned about fitness requirements. Ultimately we are very optimistic about the future of China's manned spaceflight program, and with our new major, we hope to train up a lot more potential candidates.'

[MSME Student Orientation Day 2022-23]

The Department welcomed the new master students of MNE student at 30 AUG 2022.

The department had invited Prof. PAN Chin to have a welcome speech to all the students. Also, Prof. LI Youfu and Dr. ZHU Pingan had a programme briefing and Dissertation briefing to all students.

After the Orientation Day, they started their first lesson in CityU with Prof. Li.
