School-based s*x education programs also help young people to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy relationships and to build the skills they need to help them avoid violent relationships.

Hundreds of studies have shown that comprehensive s*x education programs have had measurable success helping young people wait to have s*x, use condoms and other forms of birth control when they become s*xually active, and limit the number of partners they have.

These programs also include guidance for setting healthy boundaries, including the ability to say no to s*x and establishing positive, respectful relationships. Relationships are complex, and young people need consistent guidance on developing healthy ones.

States that prescribe abstinence-only s*x education programs in public schools have significantly higher teenage pregnancy and birth rates than states with more comprehensive s*x education programs, researchers have determined.

I spent my adolescence terrified about s*x, all aspects of which seemed to me to be coated with a film of physical and emotional disease.

S*xual Health Promotion/Education is not merely a task, project or campaign.
It's a belief, it's an attitude, it's an ongoing process and it's part of our lives.
