The Department currently offers the following two majors:

BBA Global Business Systems Management (GBSM)

• GBSM prepares students to become smart technology business investors and global business managers with competent knowledge and skills of Internet technologies, global business and financial analysis.
• It is the only global business major in Hong Kong with focus on Internet companies like AA

AF (Alphabet/Google, Amazon, Apple, Facebook) and BAT (Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent).
• Students will complete two semester-long exchange programmes at overseas universities, including one university in Europe/North America and another one in Asia. BBA Information Management (IFMG)

• IFMG educates students to become smart business professionals for financial services, auditing and Internet services.
• Our graduates are equipped with adequate knowledge and skills in social media, mobile apps, big data/artificial intelligence and cloud services for business innovations.
• Students have flexibilities of choosing streams from Business Intelligence, Information Systems Auditing, Internet Services and Social Networks.

CityU launches master’s program on business AI

City University of Hong Kong is set to launch the city’s first master’s program on artificial intelligence in business in the 2025-26 academic year.

The program will focus on generative AI technologies and their business applications, combining core business knowledge with AI skills. Students will learn to enhance business efficiency, manage AI projects, and design sustainable AI solutions.

The program is supported by global tech leaders including Alibaba Cloud, Inspur, Microsoft, and Google, according to the university. These partners will provide free AI software services, internship opportunities, and senior technical experts as guest lecturers to teach advanced topics that include generative AI, large language models, and prompt engineering.

To support this vision, CityU will establish a state-of-the-art generative AI laboratory for business, providing students and researchers with advanced infrastructure to explore AI applications.
