原著夾雜如閩南語、日語等多種語言，內容錯綜複雜。譯者金翎一反「講求流暢、譯者隱形」嘅傳統做法，選用「刻意難讀」嘅翻譯策略。透過保留不同語言嘅不協調感，加入大量註釋同後記 ，講解漢字喺不同語境嘅語意，以及當中蘊藏嘅歷史文化，忠實呈現華語語系豐富多元嘅特色 。

📚 What makes a “good” translation?
Dr Shelby Chan, Associate Dean of the School of Translation and Foreign Languages at , explores the translation approach behind Taiwan Travelogue, this year’s International Booker Prize-winning novel.
​
🌏 The original text blends multiple languages, including Southern Min and Japanese, creating a richly layered narrative. Instead of following the traditional norm of “fluency” and “translator invisibility”, translator Lin King embraces a bold strategy of “deliberate difficulty.”
​
📝 By preserving the tension between languages and adding detailed footnotes and an afterword, the translation reveals the meanings of Chinese characters across contexts and the historical and cultural depth behind them—capturing the true diversity of the Sinophone world.

Dr Anna Tso, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English at , explores the theme of forgiveness and reconciliation through Shakespeare’s late “romance plays”.
​
She highlights how works such as The Tempest and The Winter’s Tale blend tragedy and comedy. The characters go through betrayal, separation and hardship, but eventually find reunion and forgiveness— a journey from darkness to renewal.
Unlike tragedies that emphasise revenge and fate, these plays reveal the healing power of time, giving people the chance to make new choices and rebuild relationships.

In Shakespeare’s romances, forgiveness is more than a plot device. It reflects humanity and hope, helping characters rediscover connection and meaning after loss.
