Exciting News from the Consulate General of Belgium in Hong Kong!

On March 6, 2026, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the Belgium Consulate hosted an inspiring competition aimed at empowering university students. We are thrilled to announce that Sweta Gurung, a final-year student from Lingnan University Majoring in International Economy & Politics Student, has been selected to serve as Consul General for a Day!

Throughout her day in this prestigious role, Sweta engaged in a range of stimulating activities, including morning briefings that provided insights into the critical discussions shaping diplomatic strategies. She participated in lunch meetings, networking with influential leaders and fellow diplomats to exchange ideas and foster connections. Additionally, Sweta visited the IMF office, exploring global economic dynamics and the role of international institutions.

Her experience included various daily tasks of a Consul General, allowing her to gain hands-on experience in managing consular responsibilities and understanding the impact of diplomacy. This unique opportunity not only showcases Sweta’s dedication and talent but also highlights the importance of women’s leadership in diplomacy.

Lingnan University Forum - The New Era of Data Science and AI: Challenges and Opportunities for School Graduates was successfully held on 26 and 27 March.

The forum brought together high school principals and counselors from nine countries/regions, including mainland China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

A total of 33 high schools participated, making it a truly international event. The forum provided these high school principals and counselors with a unique opportunity to explore the distinctive liberal arts education offered by Lingnan.
