Cork ETB has been informed that members of public sector unions including INTO, TUI, ASTI, FORSA, SIPTU and AHCPS have been directed to take strike action on Wednesday 14th October. Pickets may be placed on schools, campuses or centres where members of the relevant union(s) are employed on that day, including Bantry FET (St. Goban's).
Following an assessment of the implications of the strike action on the operation of its schools, campuses and centres, Cork ETB has reluctantly decided that it cannot guarantee the health and safety of learners on its premises on Wednesday 14th October, as the ETB will not be in a position to ensure the care and supervision of learners on that day. Therefore Bantry FET (St. Goban's) will not be open to learners on that day.
Learners who are registered with us on courses due to take place on Wednesday should have received a text or email from our FET system.
We will be open to learners on 15th October as normal.
