MTU Societies Education means more than just academic learning, it is about having fun and socialising with other

During the academic year there are over 50 Societies in operation in CIT. The activities carried out by the Societies can range from the organisation of paintballing, table-quizzes, workshops, showing films, trips to various parts of Ireland, Go-Karting or even the very popular 'faculty balls'.

The MTU Volunteer Abroad programme provides financial support to students who wish to Volunteer Abroad.

For 2026, the programme will support students through a Bursary Award.

Current full-time registered MTU Cork campus students are eligible to apply for the programme.

The volunteer abroad programme must be a duration of at least 2 weeks.

Students are invited to consider volunteering options listed on the comhlámh website. This is a list of volunteer sending agencies which are signed up to the Comhlámh Code of Good Practice which share a vision around values-led volunteering (linked in bio ⛓️‍💥). Solidarity, Social Justice, Ecological Sustainability, Respect, Integrity.

Organisations not signed up to the code of practise will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students can check prior to applying if their organisation is suitable for application.

When do I need to apply by?    

Email completed Bursary Applications by Monday 8th December 2025 to [email protected]
