As we wrap up MIND - Your Mental Health Week, our students and staff based in Bishopstown wore Shine Ireland armbands to show their support and stand together for mental health.
It’s a reminder to all of us that it’s always okay to ask for help, and no one has to face things alone.
Let’s keep checking in with each other, listening without judgement, and reminding one another that we’re never alone. 💚

Your coffee lasts minutes but single-use cups last much longer! ☕

Ireland uses around 200 million disposable cups every year, that's 3.7 million every week, 528,000 every day, or 22,000 every hour! 🫨

That's a huge amount of single use waste that many of us help to create without ever thinking twice about. To make matters worse, single use coffee cups cannot be recycled in Ireland. ♻️❌

So, rather than getting your next caffeine fix in a disposable cup, the message is simple: bring your own, use it over and over again. Make the small action count.💪💙

This , let’s think about what happens to food after a meal.

Food scraps, fats, oil and greases should never be poured down the sink. Fats, oils and grease can cool and harden inside pipes, where they combine with other waste and contribute to costly blockages and fatbergs.

Before washing plates and pans, always:

🍽️ Scrape food scraps into the food-waste or general-waste bin, as appropriate
🧻 Wipe excess grease from cookware
🫙 Allow used cooking oil to cool and collect it in a suitable container for proper disposal

Protect your pipes and our wastewater network.
