Congratulations to Joshua Furlong who recently received the first MA in Philosophy Studentship Award, a new award that recognises the BA in Philosophy student with the highest mark among those going on to an MA at UCC. Joshua's focus is on the ethics of AI.

Another fantastic example of donor generosity supporting UCC's talented students addressing today's most urgent challenges.

The UCC Women Graduates’ Association Annual Dinner brought alumni and friends together in the historic Aula Maxima for a memorable evening of conversation, connection and celebration.

Guests enjoyed an inspirational presentation by Dr Val Cu**in, “From Harbour to Horizon: A Career Shaped by Purpose”, followed by an engaging Q&A session.

UCC Women Graduates’ Association President Mary Morrissey and the WGA Committee welcomed attendees from across the university community, along with special guests from the Irish Federation of University Women and Women Graduates’ Associations representing TCD, UCD, Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Galway.

Earlier this week, we celebrated 12 new and exciting projects that will be supported this academic year thanks to generous donations to the UCC Alumni Fund. đź’«

From sustainable period products to UCC Rowing’s new training machine to the UCC Rocketry and Space Exploration Society securing funding for the first all-Irish student rocketry competition, and so many more student and staff-led projects, this year’s Fund is supporting a brilliant range of initiatives across the UCC community. 🌱🚣‍♀️🚀

And this is just the beginning…

Keep an eye on our socials throughout the year as we spotlight the people, ideas, and impact behind this year’s projects. 👀

Thank you to our alumni, friends, and staff who support the UCC Alumni Fund. Your generosity makes these opportunities possible. 🙏

A morning of connection, conversation and inspiration đź’™

Last week, we welcomed our students, alumni, and friends to our first UCC Alumni Breakfast Series with Deloitte, exploring Mindfulness & Wellbeing: Performance & Resilience.

From pilates and breakfast to honest conversations around performance, resilience, sleep and movement, it was brilliant to bring our UCC community together and hear from such an inspiring panel.

Here’s a little look back at the morning 🎥✨

Autumn glory on campus 🍂🌳

A beautiful September evening spent exploring the UCC Arboretum with Dr Barbara Doyle Prestwich and Dr Eoin Lettice of UCC’s School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Science, in the company of the UCC Women Graduates’ Association.

From the graceful Weeping Willows by the Alumni Bridge to a majestic Monterey Pine from California, the tour showcased some of the remarkable diversity within UCC’s tree collection. Among the highlights were the native Strawberry Tree, the rare Wollemi Pine, often described as a “living fossil”, and two magnificent Giant Sequoias.

Home to more than 2,500 trees, the UCC Arboretum continues to be one of the university’s most treasured natural assets.
