TU Dublin SDG Literacy group and Graduate Business School hosted the seminar last night at East Quad, Grangegorman. A full house captivated by guest speaker Neil McCabe sharing his stories on social entrepreneurship, climate action initiatives, Ashoka fellowships, and even a trip to The White House to meet President Obama. You could hear a pin drop during his talk!

...and that's a wrap! So much to discuss on . From listening to the panel & the concerns of participants, the two biggest take away actions are policy change to protect garment workers & to stop supporting brands - only buy what you really need and want.

Thank you to all our panelists , Maeve Galvin of and who delivered an insightful and challenging discussion on the supply chain.

who was unable to attend, was instrumental in shaping the topics which would be covered at the event and we extend our thanks for all her contribution in the lead up to the panel event.

👗A Clothing Love Story 💗 Dress my clothes and my love story 💘🍃

I still remember that this scarf was bought during a trip in Japan 5 years ago. this is a Japanese brand that I like very much. Because this brand has always insisted on a comfortable, simple and environmentally friendly style, the clothes are very durable and will not be out of date. This scarf has three basic earth colors, and the shape design of the scarf can create different shapes. It can be used as a scarf, cloak and skirt, plus a belt can change the style.

Many years ago, I was very obsessed with fast fashion, and I could buy more than 50 clothes a year. In recent years, I have begun to reflect on the organization of my wardrobe. I found that many clothes were worn only once or twice, and some were even new. Especially when I traveled to different countries for many years, I began to find that all the daily necessities I needed were only a 24-inch suitcase. In fact, we don’t need that much. What we need is simple, comfortable and will not give up even if we wear it for many years. I hope everyone can think more about our life style and save and simple life can contribute to our planet 🌏

💖A Love Story 💕 Love Story about my sustainable CHANGE tee

Sdgliteracy competition entry

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the love of my wardrobe – the Susty Wear CHANGE t-shirt.

Our relationship is special… Tired of failing to find suitable ethical and sustainable clothing I decided to create my own brand – Susty Wear.

I love the CHANGE tee because it captures everything I care about: other people, the environment, animals and feeling/looking good in the clothes I wear. I no longer need to choose between fashion and sustainability. The tee is made of 100% organic cotton, printed with eco-friendly ink and is produced ethically in a factory where employees are respected and empowered.

So far, our journey has lasted 8 months (including the design stage). The tee goes well with pretty much everything. You can dress it up or down just as I demonstrated in my video. I wear it 2-3 times a week meaning we’ve already shared over 40 special days together and have many more to come.
This tee is not only a great piece to wear, but the design has also sparked many conversations and helped me raise awareness about the impact of fast fashion on our planet. It is time for CHANGE and this tee is just that! 😊

🕺🏻A Clothing Love Story 💕

My clothing love story is all thanks to the mysterious "N. Wall", the previous owner of this beautiful green blouse. I'm so grateful that they donated it to St. Vincent de Paul because I never would have found my favourite item of clothing otherwise. It's green, patterned and I feel like I'm transported to the 70s every time I wear it. It's just a blouse yet it has the ability to put me in a good mood and make me feel confident every time I put it on. It's also sentimental because it's one of the first pieces that I bought second-hand. It's got a few buttons missing and the sleeves are a little short but it feels so special knowing that no one else has anything like it. 💚
