NEIL - Neuroenhancement for Independent Lives

NEIL - Neuroenhancement for Independent Lives At NEIL our overarching aim is to develop methods to delay dementia. Failing mental function is one of the major determinants of independence in older people.

The cognitive impairment that arises as a consequence of neurodegenerative diseases, like dementia, is a major driver of disability and poor quality of life in older people. The NEIL programme aims to gain a better understanding of the transition from cognitive health to cognitive impairment and to develop scalable interventions that enhance cognitive function and delay dementia.

There's a fantastic piece of research being done at the minute on how hearing loss affects older people. It's a really important issue and your help is needed.

They're recruiting volunteers over the age of 50. You don't need to have a hearing problem to take part and you'd simply need to drop in to DeafHear's for a brief testing session and a questionnaire that will take no more than a couple of hours.

Refreshments will be provided! Volunteers can email with their contact details at [email protected] or contact us at 087-4327986.

We are looking for volunteers aged 50+ to take part in an exciting new study!
