Bíonn blas ar an mbeagán i gcónaí. 🤝

Ar mhaith leat rud éigin fiúntach a thabhairt ar ais don phobal? Is iomaí deis atá ag Alumni UCD chun tacaíocht a thabhairt do Mhic Léinn reatha, is cuma cén áit ar domhan atá siad lonnaithe.

Ó threoir neamhfhoirmiúil a thairiscint mar chuid de Chlár Cairde na nAlumni go comhairle gairme a thabhairt tríd an gClár Meantóireachta Gairme, bíonn tionchar dearfach agus luachmhar ag do chuid ama agus taithí saoil ar dhaoine.

Bí mar aoichainteoir ar phainéil ghairme, nó glac páirt i gciorcail mheantóireachta, nó freastail ar cheann de na himeachtaí a reáchtáiltear i rith na bliana.

"The sky didn't fall in." 🚜

UCD School of Agriculture & Food Science alumnus Dr Brian Meredith and his father Keith moved their Co. Laois beef farm to organic production five years ago. After some early uncertainty, they have not looked back.

Innovation starts with finding better ways to help the next generation learn.

College of Health and Agricultural Sciences, UCD alumna and Professor, Antonella Puggioni, is exploring exactly that. A specialist in veterinary diagnostic imaging, Antonella combines clinical expertise with innovative approaches to teaching and learning at UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.

Originally from Sardinia, her career brought her to Ireland in the early 2000s. Today, she is exploring new ways to prepare future veterinary professionals, including the use of mixed reality to develop practical radiography skills.

"For me, volunteering is a practice that builds community from the inside." 💙

For University College Dublin alumna Belinda Brummer, volunteering is about the connections that grow when people choose to show up for one another.

Having moved to Ireland in her twenties, Belinda remembers how much the kindness and friendship of others helped her find her feet in a new country. Years later, that experience inspired her to become a volunteer with the UCD Alumni Buddy Programme for International Students in collaboration with UCD Global.

Since then, she has supported students from around the world, shared her professional expertise through career development webinars and workshops, and built connections that have lasted well beyond the programmes themselves.

From celebrating Diwali and exploring Sally Gap with students, to receiving the exciting call that a former buddy had secured a graduate role, volunteering has brought many memorable moments and a growing sense of belonging to the UCD community.

Belinda's advice to anyone thinking about getting involved is simple: "Find the way that suits you to get involved, and then do it. And do it again."

"I felt I was able to blossom into the person I knew I could be, instead of always worrying and being held back by my financial stress." - Tia, Cothrom na Féinne Scholar

Receiving a scholarship gave Tia more than financial support: it gave her peace of mind and the freedom to focus on Nursing, embrace life at University College Dublin, and discover the career she now considers her calling.

As students receive their CAO offers, your donation could give another UCD student that same sense of security, helping them focus on their education and build a future that financial pressures once made feel out of reach.

"I found out I had received the scholarship while sitting on the bus home after a long day of lectures… At that moment, a huge weight lifted off my shoulders." - David, Cothrom na Féinne Scholar

With less financial pressure, David could focus on his studies, embrace life at University College Dublin and make space for his passion for boxing. Since taking up the sport in 2024, he has competed for his university club and is now working towards winning his first amateur title.

A scholarship offers more than financial support. It gives students the freedom to build confidence, pursue their ambitions and fulfil their potential. Your donation could give another UCD student that same opportunity.
