Yeterday (07 Sept 2026), members of our Level 7 BSc (Add-on) Pharmacy Technician Studies team, Dr Francesca Ravera, Dr Abhrajyoti Tarafdar, Dr Swarna Jaiswal and Dr Tao Zhang, had the pleasure of visiting the St Vincents University Hospital, Dublin, with a particular focus on the .

As we prepare to welcome our first cohort of Level 7 Pharmacy Technician Studies students next week 💊🎓, engagement with hospital pharmacy colleagues is an important part of ensuring the new programme remains closely connected to current clinical practice.

The visit provided valuable insight into current hospital aseptic services and will further inform our teaching, particularly within 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, as part of the Level 7 programme.

Designed to support the continuing professional development of pharmacy technicians, this innovative programme will equip graduates with the advanced knowledge, skills and competencies required for the evolving roles of the profession.

What an incredible effort from our Year 1 Pharmacy Technician students! Their Bake Sale today (26 March 2026) for LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice, was a huge success! 👏 Over just three days, our students raised an incredible €𝟏,𝟎𝟗𝟎 to support children with life-limiting conditions and their families.❤️

This initiative is a wonderful example of our students putting professionalism, compassion, and community engagement into action, key values in healthcare practice.

A huge congratulations to all students for their energy, dedication, and teamwork. Your commitment to making a difference in the community is truly inspiring! 🫶

A very special thanks to Dr Julie Dunne, our Head of School, whose guidance and mentorship helped make this meaningful community engagement initiative possible.👍

Our amazing Year 1 Pharmacy Technician Studies students are hosting a bake sale this Thursday, 26th March in the Central Quad lobby, Grangegorman from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm 🎉

This event forms part of the students’ volunteering activities within their Professional Development ePortfolio module, with all proceeds going to LauraLynn Children’s Hospice ❤️—supporting the incredible care they provide to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

This upgrade ensures that the latest industry-standard functions will be available for our students, giving them hands-on, authentic experience with the tools they will use in their future careers.💪🌟

Our 1st-year students were getting hands-on with laptops while the upgrade is underway.💻🎓
